Half of our problem in recent years was keep swapping number 7 looking for a magic fix, would of been good to see if Hunt was a magic fix with our pack, sorry it didnt work out and he should think about UK SL but yeah I was happy with developing Lewis too and we should stick with Sexty who's short kicking game came good.

This is the biggest issue with this decision...
Both Broncos and Dolphins just missed out on top 8 this year. If Hunt played for them, i guarantee you they would have made it.

If Hunt goes to them, i guarantee you they improve their play. Broncos wont miss finals next year.

Getting Hunt wasnt just about improving our team. It was equally about not giving our nearest competitors a leg up.

People really believed that we didn’t want Paps he wanted us. Gus chased 3 players and lost on all 3. Paps was too quick so Weidler or Chammas didn’t get the exclusive of Gus pulling the deal 24hrs before they sign elsewhere. Usually offers get withdrawn after a player says they’ve signed elsewhere.

Maybe now Gus can just focus on what’s at the club then did well last season and trust his pathways system.
