Exactly why they need to shed him. Most try assists in the comp but also most errors with 53 and missed 25 tackles in the last 6 games. I read someone on here say he takes the ball deep into the defensive line regularly but gets smashed because his teammates don't back him up. True ?

He is not ordinary. He was a top 5 halfback this season before Origin & only turned 20 this season. He is the future of their club. Ben Hunt will be 35 years old in March.

Giving up on a 21 year old franchise halfback for a 35 year old Ben Hunt would be a stupid move.

Katoa is better than Sexton.

You got to wonder if Kotoa will continue to improve without Bennett who bought the best out of him and other
fringe players

The trouble there is to teach Woods and Sexton is to play alongside them.
Hunt plays half where does that put Sexton.
Similar with him taking the 9 spot.
By the time Woods can play alongside Hunt our spine will have a different look.
If we sign Hunt it is for him being able to play fulltime half alongside Burton and get us a premiership, not
a friggin teacher. Let the others coming thru be their own man and produce the talent needed

You would expect so after learning so much off Bennett, but without proper guidance needed by youngsters he might not reach
the next level or so.
At this stage he shows heaps of promise to be a keeper

Agree, but then it all depends how much Sexton has learnt and the improvement shown from here and later
Sexton because of his late introduction to1st grade somewhat played down the important role of taking charge in situations that
benefited the attacking structure.
If we sign Hunt I cannot see Sexton going back to NSW Cup and his value of right now would diminish quickly.
Hunt in, Sexton out early in November on the open market.

At this stage Hunt's resume is a known quality.
Sexton's is not. Time is on his side. Not Hunt.

That scenario if it pans out would be perfect.
There is a number of ifs and buts of course that cannot be predicted.
In this game of signing and not wanted there will always be losers.
I just did not want Sexton to be the meat in the sandwich.
I admire him for his grit and troubles he endured to go from being booted from the Titans and ending up at the Dogs.
Never gave up his quest to succeed when Hutch had the 7 spot to where he is now.
That sort of determination is what is wanted in a player

My only concern with potentially swapping sexton for Hunt, is what it would do for team harmony. Sexton is well liked by the boys.
