I heard today on 2gb radio Chris Smith ( Souths Supporter) say how lucky we are to have Todd Greenberg in charge at the nrl after he acted quickly on Ben Barba. I nearly ran up the arse of another car while I was driving. If he acted just as quick or acted at all on Burgess and Inglis, Chris Smith wouldn’t be creaming his undies over Greenturd.

South Sydney has cleared all players from any wrongdoing over the lewd sexting scandal that emerged last week.

The club received complaints in May, June and August over inappropriate conduct by a group of players, which included star Sam Burgess.

It was alleged he exposed himself to a woman during a Facebook video chat.

After interviewing the players and woman involved, the Rabbitohs have found no player engaged in any actionable misconduct resulting in a breach of their NRL contract.

The decision comes just a day before South Sydney take on the Sydney Roosters at Allianz Stadium in a do-or-die preliminary final.

Former Rabbitoh Michael Crocker tells Chris Smith it’s “good timing to have the book closed on that”.

“For Sam, his partner Pheobe, and the families, and the rest of the Rabbitohs, it was obviously a tough couple of weeks.

“I think for the Rabbitohs, they’ll be really confident now. They obviously went out and played last week with that hanging over them and they got the win.

“I think that’ll bring them together.”

Oh yeah Chris Smith loves his Rabbitohs, their shit don't stink and they are beyond reproach... millions of interviews with his beloved Rabbitohs players over the years and he does not hide his bias either. I tend to switch off when he starts his annoying love fest.......

Ainslie Currie's texts to a friend detail injuries after allegedly being punched by Ben Barba
James Phelps, DailyTelegraph

September 3, 2013 12:00am

THESE are some of the text messages Ainslie Currie sent to a friend after fronting the Bulldogs and alleging her former partner Ben Barba punched her in the face.
As the NRL continues its investigation into claims the star fullback was the subject of a domestic violence complaint, The Daily Telegraph can reveal a partial transcript of the explosive text messages Ms Currie sent to a friend detailing the injuries she is alleged to have sustained following an altercation with Barba on February 24.

Ms Currie sent a friend a series of text messages describing her injuries before reluctantly sending a picture that showed the lower section of her face covered in blood.

"Nothings funny, you should see my face," Ms Currie wrote.

"It is not good ey (sic). Because it is ugly."

The friend urged Ms Currie to provide more details.

"I just have a busted lip," Ms Currie continued.

"I have to go away for a few days maybe weeks".

Ms Currie was asked by the concerned friend to send a picture so they could see the extent of the alleged injuries to face of Barba’s former partner.

“Ok do u (sic) want blood or the aftermath?" Ms Currie wrote.

"Blerh (sic)."

The photo.
Ms Currie then sent the photograph that was exclusively published in The Sunday Telegraph when the revelations of the assault allegations were revealed.

The picture is now in the hands of the NRL Integrity Unit, which is investigating the alleged assault as well as the possibility the incident was covered up by the club.

“I have the bigggggest bruised jaw ever," Ms Currie said after the friend asked when “he" did this.

“This morning. I can’t even remember how it all came about. I was lying dwn (sic) goin (sic) back to sleep."

The friend asked where "he" was, with Ms Currie stating “he" was at Belmore.

The Daily Telegraph can reveal further details of the alleged incident that saw Barba sent to rehabilitation after being stood down by the club.

Ms Currie told Bulldogs officials Barba confronted her in her Caringbah apartment on the morning of February 24 and asked her whether or not she was having a relationship with another man.

Ms Currie was estranged from Barba at the time and the footballer was in a relationship with another woman.

Barba is understood to have had an issue with the man he suspected had become close with his former partner.

Ms Currie is alleged to have fled over a balcony from the ground floor apartment she formerly shared with Barba before calling the footballer’s manager, Gavin Orr.

Mr Orr took Ms Currie to Belmore where the assault claims were made to Bulldogs coach Des Hasler and former CEO Todd Greenberg.

Both Greenberg and Hasler directed Ms Currie to go to police.

Ms Currie has resumed a relationship with Barba. Contrary to reports, Ms Currie is not living in Brisbane, but plans to move to Queensland with Barba when he begins his new contract with the Broncos.

Barba has admitted to having gambling and alcohol problems, which the Bulldogs have tried to address. The Daily Telegraph can reveal the Bulldogs pay a percentage of Barba’s wage directly into Ms Currie’s account.

The Bulldogs are co-operating fully with the NRL’s investigation. It has been incorrectly reported the club leaked the information to The Sunday Telegraph after Barba decided to seek a release from the final two years of his contract. The Sunday Telegraph broke the story after a six-week investigation, which began after the newspaper learned of the existence of the photo.

The Broncos have indicated they will honour the deal and support Barba.

According to SMH, NRL IU bigwig Karyn Murphy is flying down to Sydney from Townsville tomorrow to meet with NRL officials to hand down the official decision on Ben Barba.

indigenous communities are plagued with this kinda stuff.

Read about domestic violence out of interest due to this running story and something like indigenous women are 32x more likely to end up hospitalised for domestic violence. While ainslie isn’t indigenous, I think being part of the community or partner of a guy whose been part of that community may play a part.

I suspect alcohol also.

NRL CEO Todd Greenberg has confirmed that Ben Barba has been deregistered after his latest off-field indiscretion.

Ben Barba has been given a life ban by the NRL, with CEO Todd Greenberg declaring it’s time for him to find a new vocation.

Greenberg said on Monday Barba had been deregistered and he could see no way back for him after the NRL integrity unit viewed CCTV footage of a physical altercation with his partner Ainslie Currie at a Townsville casino.

The 2012 Dally M winner and 2016 premiership winner Barba had already been sacked by North Queensland after the Australia Day weekend incident which is under police investigation. “His registration with the game is no longer and I can’t see a time, at any time, in the future that he’ll be welcomed back,” Greenberg said.

Greenberg did not speak to Barba but sent a message to Currie through a third party to offer support and counselling.

An emotional Greenberg, who knew Barba from his time as the Bulldogs CEO, said the 29-year-old needed to find a new career path after a spectacular but trouble-marred league career.

The English Super League and Australian Rugby Union have both indicated they won’t offer Barba a career lifeline, leaving European club rugby union as his only option if he wanted to continue playing football.

“I’m not going to call for (a worldwide ban) but what I am going to say is that in the jurisdiction that I uphold, there’s no place for him,” Greenberg said. (BAHAHAHAHA........BAHAHAHAHA) this guy is hilarious....

“It’s probably time for Ben to find a new vocation.” Barba won the 2012 Dally M and led Canterbury to the grand final before his career first spiralled out of control.

He was stood down by the Bulldogs to seek help for alcohol and gambling issues, amid rumours of a domestic violence incident. News Corp published photos of his partner with cuts and bruises to her face, however, she made no complaint to the NRL or the club.

After a stint at Brisbane, Barba played a leading part in Cronulla’s 2016 grand final win. He was suspended for 12 weeks when he recorded his second illicit drugs strike after the Sharks’ premiership celebrations.

He went to French club rugby then to Super League in England, where he rebuilt his career, winning the Man of Steel award, and was offered a one-year deal by the Cowboys. However, he was sacked without ever playing a game for the Townsville-based club.

“These decisions affect people’s livelihoods, children, so they’re big moments and you want to make sure you get them right,” Greenberg said.

“This is an enormous outcome because this is a guy that now loses his livelihood and career in the game. “It’s a very clear message for a lot of players in our sport that it is a great privilege to play rugby league.”

What's the source of this?

Rugby Australia - Have stated they will also stand behind any decision by NRL.
English Super League - Will stand by any decision by NRL.

So French or Japanese league/rugby is probably his only option.
I think Japanese rugby would be out too - they would be using their foreign quotas on big fellas. Plus culturally I just don't see it happening.

The French Top14? They seem to take anyone.

I hope so, he's placed the game into disrepute more than any other individual, if he had any jurisdiction he would fire himself.
