Why is Gus escaping scrutiny in all of this? Wouldn’t surprise me at all if he was imposing his will on the team by forcing certain decisions and making Ciraldo’s job harder than it needs to be. That’s what Gus does. But of course he will escape scrutiny because this forum rides his nuts hard.

Nailed it none of this makes sense why would a rookie coach who was winning the comp make so many drastic changes. Got gus all over it

That's pretty accurate. Leniu, Chricton, Radley & Collins tore us in a new one. It was pretty sad watching us trying to get out of our own half.

We made it harder by gifting them all the penalties they needed to get out of their own half, then compounding it by gifting them repeat sets.
At one point the Chooks had 85% possession when they were scoring against our smaller players.

With better possession, we wear their bigger units down, but not if they have all the ball in our half.

It was a perfect game for the Chooks - much like our first game against Brisbane, where everything they did came off to perfection, and they dominated our forwards.

There were some odd calls that went against us, making it even harder to get traction. There were no 50/50s our way....again.

Ciro selects the team. Salmon every week is on him. Splitting Kiraz and Critta is on him. Selecting Tuala is on him. Giving Curran big minutes is on him. Playing Milky starting 9 is on him. Dont deflect Ciro questionable decisions to Gus

Agree with Reed. Sexton is not the answer. His defence much better than Galvin though. Our forwards dont make enough metres. We rely on Burto and a Kiraz offload to get us out of trouble. When we drop balls and give away penalties we cant compete

When did Penrith make drastic roster changes during a season after Ivan Cleary done a reset on the club in 2019? Don’t mention Api he was still playing 60mins a game and might have picked up an injury so that’s why they eased him into games.

That was shit. i dont tend to comment on coaching decsions becuase i dont see what goes on behind the scenes and at training. but surely mahoney is better off starting and bringing hayward on a sub. am i missing something? we were getting smashed up the middle for most of the game, why is hughes and king (state of origin front rower) off for so long? its ok to have curran and hayes as front rowers when its a speed game, not when its a power game. I think thats the blueprint to beat the dogs, just power up through the middle and bash them. doenst seem our team can go with that from what i have seen so far this year.

I'm getting the same vibes as last year when Manly and Cowboys beat us the same way.

This. It was so obvious. Always a leg up penalty for the smallest of things, but none for us. Adds up when you have no forward rotation.

He does need to return Reed to the starting line up and drop Salmon for a prop
