Furthermore, in respect to dib he did the best he could under the circumstances during his chairmanship, I do believe he was let down by Raylene and des as they were given too much power, certainly made some mistakes in the end.

However the new chair has the opportunity to create something beautiful, a clean slate, a blank canvas and unfortunately the thought crossed his mind by reports in the media that he considered painting that blank canvas with a black mark.

Rest assured if dib was given the role, anything bad happen in the future the media would always I would say like to refer to his past, and quite frankly I'm over it...the past that is.

A new beginning and a new horizon, exciting times to be a dogs supporter

Big difference between giving something a thought and actually doing it.

Who knows to what extent the support was? It was pretty vague. When you match up Dib against the other candidates mentioned both him and Warburton would have the inside running due to their intimate knowledge of how things work at the club and they have proven in the past they can attract sponsors to the club.

If they were looking for a purely commercial CEO Dib has the runs on the board. In saying that you cannot overlook what he did with the footy side of things so they made the right choice. Personally I have no problem with Dib being discussed or even interviewed but if he was hired that’s a different story.

The Chooks have 3 permanent staff in media and 2 consulting firms. It's no accident that they get only good publicity.

Go Dogs
Look at the nswrl site. Fittler in the country with Camden’s Tedesco. And Bradly and country boy Angus Crichton with Boyd Cordner from Newcastle all representing NSW rugby league. More biased promotion of roosters brand by nswrl in all credit the roosters are a well drilled machine on and off the fried. Credit where it’s due

Someone please explain what this no name Warburton fella can do better than Andrew Hill.

Remember I used to give it to hill in spades during his tenure, however the bloke started to come good, I was just getting to like him and then they bone him.

If we are not hiring someone high profile then what was the point of losing hill, with a low profile ceo.

Aaron Warburton used to work at the club as head of commercial for close to a decade and he left to start up his own firm specialising in delivering sponsorship to sports teams.

By the sounds of it his firm didn't do too well, if he is considering chucking it in an becoming an employer instead of an owner of a business

I’m pretty sure they have done that. They are after a commercial CEO so it’s unlikely to be a big name.
‘Big Names’ will also cost too much.
Ideally sporting administration experience along with commercial nous so it seems both Warburton and Clark tick those boxes.

I’m not sure who would even qualify as a big name? A former player? Unless you’re probably employed in sports administration you’re not going to know many of the names that work in that field. My personal preference would be Warburton mainly due to his prior experience at the club.

Whenever we've had a corporate/non RL CEO in the past, it's generally ended badly and the lack of football nous or how to handle the totally different world of NRL controversies, dramas and volatile media/fan reactions ends up being an issue.

Part of the reason why Hill kept such a cool head amidst all of ths turmoil was his Rugby League background, so preferably the next CEO has similar experience.

You gotta spend money to make money particularly in this role.

This is a good point Ted. Punting Hill in favour of hiring Warburton and a hiring someone else to look after the football program seems a bit of a sideways move.

Sure but a big piece of the puzzle no matter who the CEO is a winning footy team. We’ve finally gotten ourselves into a position to compete again but on field results will make it an easier sell. That’s why I didn’t get the timing of sacking Hill. Unless there was a plan that’s been blown up? To me it would have been justified perhaps if we compete well this year but didn’t bring in extra revenue leading into 2022 when our squad strengthens again - but now? I did hear Hill was slow to return calls to Hansen and Burton’s manager so maybe there’s more to his demise than we know.
