It’s not even the drop balls that’s the issue tbh, that can be ironed out.

He just doesn’t pose much of a threat in the attacking 30. Doesn’t really blend in well with backline movements and isn’t a big body to put teams in 2 minds. Really needs to develop a slicker passing game close to the line as he has enough physical attributes.

Still young but we really can’t afford to put another 12-18 months development then turn around and have no other options

Personally I’d still persist
Literally had a try assist last week and setup Kiraz for another line break. Setup Schoupp with a great ball today but Schoupp bombed the try. It also isn't like we have a wide variety slick backline movements anyway lol.

Yeah 1-2 try assists isn’t great in 6 games at fullback or whatever but agree, more of a function of our red zone attack/movement.

We do play a flat ish sort of style with quick ball to our half then centre. Hopefully we can develop a sweeping fullback as an added threat over the off season

But as I said, he has the physical attributes and he has great innate support play. We should persist unless something really obvious pops up on the market.

He had Covid 2 weeks ago. Some people don't just get over it the moment their quarantine is over.

Any potential ongoing illness aside, the kid's been swapped in to fullback mid-season, in a team that, before he got swapped, couldn't find the chalk in a classroom. He's had no real experience in the position and no pre-season to really get his head around it. He, like just about everyone in the team, has done an amazing job at turning things around after losing their lead-weight coach mid-season, especially after how much damage he did to our team.

He’s the best option we have - had a better second half today (no errors ) but gees would be nice to have a dynamic fullback like Drinkwater or even Hammer wasted on the wing

Not a good game at all from him today, more concerning for me was his general lack of involvement, he needs to get involved in the game more, seems the more touches he has at the back, the better his confidence and general play is.

He’s overachieved up until now at fullback. People underestimate the importance of building combinations throughout the preseason, especially in the spine.

Avo was thrown in after 3 training sessions at fullback and did a great job, but we have to be realistic. Give him a full preseason training there and see what he can produce next year.

He also has 6 tries to go with that too. He obviously has a lot of areas to work and improve on and he might not be the long-term answer but I think there's a lot of improvement in him once he gets a full preseason at fullback under his belt.

This is what I was thinking has gone missing last few games needs to get a lot more involved in play given his errors
He had more touches against the Knights than he had in any other game at fullback. Today his touches were slashed almost in half

He needs to get more involved in game and learn how to catch a high ball not first time he dropped a catch.

No. Keep him there let him develop. We’re not making the 8 so letting avo gain more experience in the role will help us into next season.

he has a lot to work on. We get no yardage from him and his support play in the middle is poor especially considering how many offloads we are getting away.
he’s shaky under the high ball and defensively inneffective
