Unfortunately Rick Rude is dead, so Abbott may actually stand a chance lol.... but he was a tough mofo, by all accounts.
Don’t have to be alive..apparently the Undertaker has been dead for years, but death has been too afraid to tell him, baby!

ps.. on a somber note about Rick Rude. Yeah heart attack....report it was the result of mixed prescription drug overdose.. but he was an admitted steroid abuser..

A bit of trivia. The Undertaker is known to his friends as "Wendy". His red hair apparently made him look like the cartoon character of the Wendy's fast food chain. You'd want to be confident you were a friend, though, before you called him that.

Lol Jericho was being kind. Goldberg got taken down by a bloke 60 pounds lighter than him....whether he would have extracted revenge or not, Jericho has no shoot training and still took him down. Bret is a known hardass who was stretched hard by his dad in the dungeon and would have beat most pro wrestlers in a fight in his prime (with the exception of the guys who have legit MMA or wrestling backgrounds and even tougher dudes like Rick Rude or Haku. Goldberg may well have beaten Jericho in a fight that went the distance (but it's not guaranteed.) Bret would have beat him comfortably. Just because you're big doesn't mean you can fight.
Big fan of Rick Rude, one of the best heels ever. Dude had the total package. Great wrestler, awesome on the mic, chiselled body,so much charisma and the ladies loved him. Still don't think he got the full recognition he deserved. All around top guy in real life and great friends with Bret Hart.

On another note, I loved the old school wrestling from the 80's and 90's. Was a huge fan of both the British Bulldog and the Ultimate Warrior at the time.

Yep, left WWE in support of Bret over the Montreal screw job. They remained good mates 'til his death.

Love the ravishing one. late 80s/ early 90s was a golden age for pure heels - Rick Rude, Ted DiBisase, Mr Perfect, Bobby Heenan, Ric Flair... all among the best of all time.

Used to love the Warrior and Hogan...but now whenever I go back and re-watch stuff from that era it's the bad guys and tag teams like The Hart Foundation and The Rockers I enjoy the most... and Macho Man, of course...who spent a lot of time as both a heel and a face. Liked the Bulldogs too...great wrestlers (especially Dynamite).... they just needed better gimmicks.

This Kennel can be a strange place at times. There are clearly plenty of wrestling fans on here (myself included) who are eager to jump on a thread and have their say when the discussion turns to wrestling. But there is actually a wrestling thread (in among "other sports") that is withering on the vine because nobody wants to post on it. Maybe its inclusion among other sports confuses people. The promoters call it "Sports Entertainment" to separate it from real sports. Perhaps if the mods can move all of these wrestling posts en bloc to the wrestling thread, that will give it a boost.

Wrestling is less scripted than the fkn government. Plus it's more believable than anything any politician says.

Lol I hadn't seen that before.... still not as iconic as his Real American WWF theme, though. What was up with Goldberg's music? Didn't really suit Goldberg or Megadeth, tbh

Macho Man, oh how i loved his promos. His infamous "cream of the crop" promo still makes me laugh with how he continually pulls little tubs of creamer out of nowhere while mid promo.

Talking of tag teams i was also big fan of The Rockers and Legion Of Doom. I just thought LoD looked cool with their spiked shoulder pads and face paint, plus I liked their entrance music.

Maybe instead of pre election debates they should just do a big wrestling event... Albo From The Block vs Dead Eyes Dutton lol

Cream of the crop; cup of coffee; yesterday's news..... all classics lol

Yeah LOD were great. I liked most of the tag teams from that era...demolition with their BDSM gear.... even the lower tier tag teams like the Rougeaus were good... and The Bushwackers... couldn't wrestle, but damn they made me laugh.

Always had a soft spot for Hulk Hogan, the guy was the face of 80's and even 90's wrestling. Hulk always takes me back to a time when I was a kid and fell in love with wrestling.

And yes, The Real American theme is so iconic and I love it. Was playing it at work the other day to hype myself up.

Actually talking of Hulk, I recently purchased myself a new Hulkamania t-shirt.

I loved the Hulkster as a kid, and yep, he really put WWF on the map and helped turn it into the super company it is today.

WWF had so many great theme songs back in the day... Real American, Million Dollar man's Money, Money, Money, Dusty Rhodes American Dream... I love how they used to actually write songs with lyrics that were all about the characters. Even the songs without lyrics had music which suited the character. They don't do it as much any more.

I pissed myself laughing when watching that back when it happened, and still do. Also, talking of Bushwackers, Butch recently passed away.
