I don't think the bins are changing but they're changing the schedule. Week of 22-26 February, all 3 bins go out for collection, then the following week, the new schedule kicks in.

My bin day for instance has been brought forward by 1 day.

Oh, so they're collecting all 3 bin now, on the new schedule date?

On 22-26 Feb they collect all 3, then the following week they empty your red bin + either the green or yellow bin (depending on your areas schedule), then continue rotating the yellow and green bins every week between each other. Red bin goes out every week as usual.

Don't they have an app already for finding out when your bins go out?

Yeah Canterbury Council isn’t the greatest but they have a massive area to look after. I grew up in Punchbowl and owned a place in Belmore so can comment. I much prefer Marrickville Council as they seem to be proactively be not reactive.

I just look outside and copy everyone else
I can determine by opening the bin lid and seeing how full the recycle is. Of course the green compost bin is no help because whenever it's always full - even the day after it gets emptied.

Spare a thought for Bayside residents - no green bin whatsoever.
