We were undermanned most of the season.

It's been a hugely disrupted season. The only reason people don't acknowledge it is because of the bar Penrith have set, but even they weren't that good when disrupted in the early part if their run.. I can remember them losing a game during Origin period against a wooden spoon bound Tigers.

I remember saying to a friend at work that with our draw we should finish top four. But to do as well as we have done this year with the team we have is better than I thought we could. Leading the comp most of the year.

We have had a great draw. Although Canberras draw was certainly better as were some others. And to be fair to Canberra they have a very young team that was weaker than ours on paper to start the year. They like us have over achieved. Penrith and Brisbane have clearly under achieved.
The real underachiever is the Dragons.

Some good posts here, I would agree our spine is not as strong as the top teams and we are missing a couple of alpha forwards up front.
But the rest of the squad is as strong if not stronger than any other team in the competition, hence the reason why we struggle to get the job done against the best teams.
I would say we have not over achieved this year as we have had a trouble- free draw.
Galvin is a good edition to the squad and once Leo Thompson arrives there should be no excuses.
I would say we are going to have a good crack at the end of year but we are far from favourites!

Honestly, if we can play like we did against Penrith we'll easily account for Melbourne.

I think we are one of four tyeams that can win it this year, along with Penrith, Canberra and Brisbane. Everyone else is no chance.

I don’t care what anyone says, beating the dargons the way we did was pure luck, we play like that again and we’re getting smoked.
Yeh 100% agree with you, we didn’t deserve that win. Playing like we did against the riff will boost my confidence in this team

We play good against good teams and average against average teams, so don't expect to post too many big wins. We have at least a 50/50 chance of beating any team in the top 4. Problem is we have a less than 50/50 chance against Ashley and Gerard.

The statistics are a 25% win record against the good teams over the past 2 seasons.
Not 50/50!

The narritave is fucking stupid, especially now.

All hypothetical. Lets just say we beat Panthers, didnt choke v Broncos with origin players out and Wahs beat Broncos if CNK and Metcalf don't get injured. That would mean Broncos would only be in the 8 on differential and Panthers would also be out of the 8.

All that matters is we have only lost 2 games that weren't origin affected.

We've had so many games this year again 15 and 16 man teams too. We've been lucky
The Broncos game in the rain was not one to judge us by. Yes, we were full strength, but we played for 30 minutes with only 12 men on the field due to three separate sin bins and Brocos dominating possession. We still won the second half.

We are obviously in a slump of some sort.

That panthers game showed me the potential of what we can play at. That dragons win was ugly and lucky but clearly isn’t our ceiling.

Athough it is beautiful to see us being a genuine threat again we clearly aren’t a finished product and that’s the exciting part.

Um.. teams in the top 4 are Raiders, Us, Melbourne and Wahs. So we are 4 wins from 6 games. It's irrelevant, any game against a top 4 team is 50/50.

While our transformation has been truly amazing over the last couple of years, a common trend is starting to appear. Our inability to beat top eight teams over the last two seasons is really beginning to show. The run home is relatively tough, and although there has been a lot of negative media around Lachlan Galvin’s signing he has obviously been bought in to buck the trend. It’s not something any sports team wants to be known for, what do you think peeps? Can we get this monkey of our back?

The monkey is on our backs if we allow it !!!
Our team's rebuild is still in motion,
Once we reach the summit it means the job just begun,
Other fans laughing at us or feeling sorry for us is over,
Gus & Co will do what it takes to ensure success,
We must get on board !!!
Fainthearted fans should support some other teams
