The rorted premier wants to change a word in the anthem, most likely to take attention away from her rorts.

She wants "one and free" instead of "young and free".

What say you?

I don't mind. I mean, young and free is related to the age of the country but it's not really young any more. Should probably remove "free" as well.

I honestly don't care if they change it. They can change it to Land Downunder for all I care.

Anthem needs a whole change up, not just one word.

The Australian anthem in no way shape or form embodies who we all are as Australians. Aboriginals, British, Central/Eastern Europe, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, Asian and even Nasheed's mob have all had a hand in making this country what it is. Let's celebrate that.

I still think a re-work of "We are Australian" by The Seekers is the way to go.

Why stop at just one word?

I suggest

Australians all let us rejoice in our stupidity
We resist even minor change and think illogically
Our land abounds in silly twats who think it would be wrong
To make a few adjustments to an uninspired song
If you're hung up on just one word you really are a schlong

Id sing that proudly lol

I just suggest you change it to "a koalas schlong" to make it more Aussie

Personally I prefer "young and free" as it always brings back memories of my time in Bangkok when the pussy was young and free ....

Why change that to something less sexual?

Speaking of minor changes when was the last time anyone seriously used the word ‘rejoice’ in a sentence. I’m off to the footy tonight, I’ll make it my mission. I’ll tell those tending bar that I rejoice they are open :-).

Every. Year.

Same old stories in the media. Next it will be invasion day, coming up soon change the date.

Then it will go in a cycle between that, the anthem and some other distraction for the masses to keep them divided while arguing with one another.

Well ... continuing on from my previous statement ...

When I met "young and free" women in Thailand I would generally "rejoice" after about a minute of being happy.

Rejoice that it was actually a woman?
Fair enough mate, fair enough :-).
Well, the definition of woman is rather loose in Thailand. Let's just say I rejoiced at the fact I could still get it up ....
