Andrew Symonds dead at 46 after tragic car accident
The cricket world is in shock after former Australian cricket star Andrew Symonds died overnight aged just 46.

The cricket world is in mourning after former Australian star Andrew Symonds died on Saturday night.
He was 46-years-old.
The Courier-Mail reports Symonds was involved in a car accident outside Townsville, where the Queenslander lived.

Loved him in the commentary box in the BBL, always seemed so happy and bubbly about his cricket and life. Will never forget what he did to that streaker, such an Australian icon in sport that we have sadly lost. Rest in Peace Andrew.

Great man and Cricketer, who trained with Broncos to be a fitter better athlete, he even played in a triple M legends game i think and was having a real go.

Bacchus, The Sheik and now Roy. Unbelievable.
RIP and thanks for great memories on the field and as a larrikin all around. Way too young.

Yeah RIP.
Loved these guys as cricketers but also thought they were very refreshing in the commentary box. Not sure how they replace personalities like this.

You cant replace them.. Cant wait to listen to Mark Waugh (Sigh) even more for next summer….

Just a side. Roy was always an x-factor - someone who'd go a series being a passenger and then when the chips were down - would pull something out of nowhere to change a game.

Personally, thought Mark Waugh was the same. We moved from Junior to Roy and we haven't seen the likes of that kind of player since.

Reminded me a bit of what the oldies said Miller was like. Didn't need to beat up on losing teams - just turned up when it mattered. These guys are the epitome of what I think Aussie cricket was all about. Feel blessed to have seen both Waugh and Simmo in full flight. And shame on Australian cricket for not recognising that sometimes unique talent doesn't fit in a box.

And this might sound callous - but just could never picture either Warne or Symonds as old men. Lived hard, lived well and died young.

RIP big fella.
