Ambush coming

Could Taaffe off the bench cause problems around the middle when the Manly forwards are huffing and puffing?

Warriors were dominating us in the first half. Making good yards with strong runs from their middles. Cirro in the manly post game presser said “we left some cues last week against the warriors”. Yes we’ve played big packs before and held them out but the last 2 games our defence has been picked apart. I’m not a coach but I don’t understand how our defence can go back to what it was in 2023 so quickly.
i see your point, however we regrouped and warriors still lost that game. so if the team was able to patch that mistake at half time but failed to do so in the 2 following rounds after tells me we either have some serious issues to fix, (or) there is a big possibility that we went out and played possum for 2weeks saving our energy and bluffing the comp after we secured our spot in the finals

we will see in 7days

I was surprised at how few minutes Hughes got.
Ciro knows how important Hughes is vs Manly, he’s our only big middle forward, I’d say that was the mindset. Manly looked vulnerable on the edges when we played them, we just didn’t go there enough and dropped too much ball… I smell a good old fashioned ambush this week.

I am surprised Poasa and Kitione are not up to scratch, they are big units we could need they been no good in lower grade ?

Problem with bulldogs is they have very small forwards. Kurtis morrin is 5 feet tall and is front row? Ridiculous when big Nelson is running at him.. swat him away like a fruit fly

a midget prop

Katoga has some defensive lapses in his game and Poasa’s issue could be his lateral movement.

Plenty of fans are starting to question our size, and I understand it, will be addressed next season to some extent, but the proof is there for 2024, we’ve beaten teams with the biggest or the best forward packs in the competition…I’m not giving up on us. We’ll win this week.

i agree fully, we have made some of the most dominant forward packs look silly this year and defeated them. we can still do this, we are just playing possum as a throw off

We'll be better against Manly this time. Blueprint is there for the guys to counter them.

Kautoga hasn’t been near the game day squad since his last game months ago. He’s first on Ciro’s bus out of here at end of the year.

Two weeks in a row the opposition has continually peppered our middle third and Manly will do so again this week. We clearly need a game plan to counter act. On the bright side we know what Manly will do, I can't see their tactics changing. Will be interesting to see how Ciro responds. Don't think there will be any surprises with team selection unless there's an injury.

Let's all face the facts here. Kurt Mann is the glue that holds this team together. I knew the moment he got injured our year was gone.

QLD forward pack was also smaller this origin series yet they beat NSW in NSW.

But will we be the ambusher or the ambushee..?

Ciro is obviously a lot more positive of our chances on Sunday than many posters here.
Luckily he's the coach. I'm thinking he gets us up for this one and we win. The game after will be another level he'll need to get us up. Ciro has this!

But will we be the ambusher or the ambushee..?

manly are a bit Hit n miss.. if they catch fire they will put 40 on us.. but if we play tough, good field position, kick to corners and chase well, we could edge out a win

It's not technically an ambush if everyone's expecting an ambush. lol
