I thought I'd see Averilo have a run at fullback in the 2nd half at least but I guess he's not in Ciraldo's plans for fullback.

Perham
Kiraz
Alamonti
Averilo
JAC
Burton
Flanno
King
Mahoney
TPJ (assuming he's fit)
RFM
Kikau
Sutton

Reynolds
Thompson
Preston
Pele

Nu Brown will be probably get the utility spot ahead of Reynolds but he didn't play today.
I would have Burns (or Skelton) foe Alamoti. He needs more time in reserve to develop. Topine for Reynolds

Would be surprised if Alamoti, Averillo and Perham are all picked ahead of Burns.

Surely Topine is a 14 chance ahead of Reynolds? And certainly ahead of Nu Brown.
Topine covers a lot of positions. His fitness and energy will help early in the season as the bigger forwards work towards match fitness.

Can't see Ciraldo experimenting in round 1. He'll pick the best performers.
He'll expect an 80 minute team effort from the very first whistle.

You'd say it's odds on that the team named today will be the round 1 team. The only question might be one bench spot up for grabs, that's about it. Look forward to 4pm.

Yes, but people need to realise this is brand new team (coaches and players) and stop holding onto the past.

Everyone has a clean slate under Ciro

In terms of the perennial whipping boys;

-Flanagan was solid (he really doesn’t have to be anything more with Burton and Reed)

-Waddell wasn’t as bad as people are making it out to be ( numbers reflect that )

-Thompson was impressive

Preston, Reed and Pele also impressive
Correct mate but quite a few can't let go of the past and the excess $$$$ lol
I'm quietly confident he will go well in 23..if he doesn't we don't re-sign him it isn't hard ffs.If he does we sign him for the right money(as per Gus's red book of values)for 24 and beyond.

1. Perham
2. Fox
3. Alamoti
4. Averillo
5. Kiraz
6. Burton
7. Flanagan
8. King

10. Tpj
11. Kikau
12. Preston
13. Sutton

14. Brown
15. Thomson
16.Mariner
17.Patolo
Mariner can cover middle and edge, Brown can spell Sutton and offer some ball playing, Thomson comes on against a tiring defence to make use of his speed and Patolo just needs to cart the ball up.
Can see the back line evolving as the season progresses. Alamoti may struggle with full time NRL.
My 2c.

It's somewhat habitual for people. The idea is established that he's overpaid despite nobody knowing if he is
At least he has a dig when he plays, TPJ is on lotto money and what he delivers on any given day is a lottery..

Nah I think Brown will be the 14 just for the fact he will play that middle role . Unless he’s not fit then Reynolds will play .

I believe he will definitely challenge Flanagan for the 7 also . Prestons I think will end up being our right edge and mariner will play that 13 role also with brown . I’d say rfm will start on a edge and move to the 13 role for a bit and will get subbed by brown later in the game .

Not certain about this love for Nu Brown. Been with three clubs without making an impact. Tigers did not keep him although they have shortage of class hookers. No preseason. Plus Mohoney is a 80 minutes player & you want him on the field for as long as possible.
Reynolds should either be at 7 or in NSW cup mentoring our crop of potentials HB / 5/8. Yes there may be occasions when Moheney is injured, but should go into the game with a plan B.
