first one doesnt work!!

For the second
Mirror: OptusNet
Data: 9 MB
Test Time: 8.35 secs

Your line speed is 9.06 Mbps (9057 kbps).
Your download speed is 1.11 MB/s (1132 KB/s).

Im in the exact same situation.

Thats why I started this thread

Cable is meant to be faster, but optus and telstra are the only companies that have it and they're not really allowing the max speed.

and they're deals are way too expensive, and the data isnt even that much

AAPT have an unlimited offpeak with their adsl2+
and TPG have awesome deals as well, very good value for money.

But ADSL speeds depends on how far you are from your exchange

Is that line of sight or cable length?

Either way, that isnt that bad

FYI, If you go over the 20g peak. Both Peak and off peak get shaped

As for ADSL2 speeds. Depends on distance and how densely populated (heavily used) an exchange is.

Yeah, But cable speeds is even more dependent on how many people use it.

Ive seen it, as soon at it reaches off peak time, it slows down

You won't get 9 Meg down load speed mate I can assure you. I am with TPG ADSL 2 and because it has become so cheap so many people have got on it. I use to get 1.5 Meg down load speed, now I am lucky to get 0.5 Meg down load speed.

I've never had any experiences with cable internet

That is considered to be pretty far tbh.

The exchange has nothing to do with TPG. All carries go through the same exchange(s) I believe.

PS. I am further away from my exchange. Right on the cusp of 2 :(
