A Top 4 spot is ours!

I'd say we're locked into top 4. Sharks in 5th three wins behind us won't catch us.. But we just need to ensure a top 2 finish.. We are a better team than Wahs, but I feel like oppositions bar the top few don't bring their best against them.. teams want to test themselves against our boys.

We have a lot of tough games to come we are far from locked in as top 4.

It would need an absolutely huge collapse to miss the 8. That being said if that was even close to happening we would be travelling that bad. That we shouldn’t be playing finals regardless.

We need two wins to guarantee top 8. Based on history possibly just one more win could get us there.

I definitely think if we can keep a fit squad and get our best team on the field in the back end of the year anything is possible.

Top two could be difference between going deep and potentially holding the trophy though. The last thing we want is to go to Canberra, NZ or Melbourne week one!

Top two would essentially see us only play at Accor in any finals game right the way through.

The thing is, we haven't even seen our best footy, and we beat Canberra on their home ground despite being down on troops. We'll get better over the next few months

Vlad and NRL better be hopin' we make Top 2 coz attendances gonna be way down and not as impressive leading into their next broadcast contract negotiations if Bulldogs crowds aren't heavily involved.

For against is relevant but if history tells us anything. 30 Points will get you in the 8.

I think the 8 is down to 10 teams now. I think the top 6 are all pretty much a lock for finals. With 7-10 fighting it out for the last two spots.

Raiders didn't make the 8 last year with 30 points.

Rabbitohs, Eels & Cowboys didn't make the 8 in 2023 with 30 points.

32-34 points is the minimum.
 
Raiders have a really soft run home and more byes too. Will be a hell of an effort to finish 1st but I rather we stay well rested for the finals and make top 4

It's funny that they've been bitching about our byes so much given their cruisy run into the finals

It will be tricky for the Raiders. Cause now they are expected to win games and be favorites. And given they have a softer draw, it's these sorts of games you get your pants pulled down, especially as a younger team, cause you already think you have won the game before it's played.

As I said for and against is relevant but 30 should get you 8th. 32 will almost guarantee it. I actually think 30 will guarantee the 8 this year with a breakaway top 4. And everyone else sharing wins.

it feels like 30 will be enough this year the way the comp has been going but agree you'd want to target 32 because 30 probs relies on for and against.

but if we finished on 30 points (or even 32-34 for that matter) and made the 8, i doubt any of us would be to excited, we would obviously be in free fall and cannon fodder week 1 lol

There is no guaretee that the teams in the top 4 keep winning at these rates. As the season goes on, those trying to make the eight need to step up and take games off these teams. I think the Warriors and the Raiders might cop it a bit that way. Us to if it keeps bloody raining hard.

We should be worrying about top 4. If we finish 5th-8th that would be terrible.

With the congested table from 5th to 12th, I think 26 to 28 points will be enough for 8th. The teams in that area will at some stage play each other and shuffle positions. I’m thinking 34 to 36 for top 4 and 40 for top 2.

Some teams will get on a roll. You already see the Dolphins getting a mini tear. You'd think there record is great, till you realise they are 7 wins 7 losses 1draw after that. There are always teams that just drop away, Dragons and probably Eels having lost Moses will end up like that. While other teams might find some form and realise it only takes 3-4 game runs to skip up the table and find confidence, I see the Rooster once Walker's back doing that. Panthers are just finding some form and are more than capable. Sharks just keep plodding along winning enough to keep them in the eight and I'm sure they will also find some form against the crappier teams. At a minimum it will be 30 to get in, but like previous years, 32 is the most likely cut off.
