That 2023 season was insane though! Infact his overall strike rate is insane. He must have been really young playing in 2022 in Flegg.

I was sure Marshall had played some games in cup too? Mazzone possibly also.
Edit: Yep, just checked all,lineups from cup last season and Mazzone played several. I have checked up until rd2 this season and have him playing 6 games of cup to that point so he’s not only playing flegg. As for Marshall, he played 1 game of cup from the games I checked, whoch is probably his only one since he was injured earlier this season.
I’m not concerned about these guys. Marshall is still quite young iirc, well he must be to qualify for flegg. He had an injury setback too, but he’s not a certainty to make it anyway. One thing that is obvious when you look through the team lists is how many players they have to try and fit in and obviously not many will end up NRL players.

Have seen Mazzone play a couple of times in cup and Flegg and he is special. That’s why we weren’t concerned with some of the losses of players in cup/flegg in the backs. We need to keep him. It seems like he has been around forever. Remember his Mum and sibling on the sideline for his first cup game. Was absolutely beautiful to see what a connected family they were. Unfortunately his mum Bec passed away.

Step up his presence may be appropriate for this last half of the comp.
Like to see him given a bit more responsibility.

The Ourfootyteam link has the same figures for Ball and Matts but actually 5 less for Flegg (3 in 2022 and 2 in 2024)

Half time Jersey Flegg, Dogs 20-10, 4 tries to 2. Storm scored in last 20 seconds with a kick off a scrum. Their other try a long range effort with a couple of bench forwards missing their task.
Jope Rauqe got 2 first half tries, one from a storm drop ball, collecting it and running about 40, the other off a nice late offload from Alatini on the line. Mazzone picked up a try from an attacking scrum move close to their line. The first try was from Alekolasimi Jones getting jumping into dummy half and going over close to the line.
For the forwards, Oliva Smith and Jones doing the most damage so far.

Full time storm 34-26. Another half to forget. Storm scored two tries in the first fifteen minutes of the second half on the back off several dogs errors. Then got a third with about 15 to go.
Dogs eventually got another through Jones with his second, though let themselves down when they had the opportunity to build on that momentum, letting in an easy try down the short side to seal it for the storm.
Lacking size in the back row, storm just rolled through them at times.
