I though the biggest issue was the lack of defence through the middle from the first set - at times they just weren't there or at best waiting causing the edge defender to attempt to complete tackles or plug gaps - 5 barge over tries and one from dummy half - the only middle who seemed consistently in position and able to move forward in defence was Smith n to a lesser extent Burns when he came on. Contrast with HM starting middles - they were outstanding.
dogs pack had trouble containing that Milin kid, scored 4 tries 10m or so out.

Looks like a more decent foward pack compared to last week still dont know why matt barakat isnt given a shot with conti or off the bench as strike
At least two of those forwards named are lucky not to have been dropped. Does anyone know if flegg are having a trial this week?

A trend for dogs in both jun rep teams across trials n first rd - losing the ball in contact. HM seem to have a few lacking the physical attributes at this stage - starting middles have been good both games as well as Udeh.

Biggest fallacy just because a team was good in one year doesnt mean it will happen in following year, because teams are almost completely overhauled and new kids come along
