Yup in an ideal world that's how it works but in reality there are alot of strip situations where the original ball carrier doesn't relinquish the ball and has maintained contact with the ball the entire time and it's still awarded to the other team. But you already know that and chose to pretend that the ruling is always upheld in black and white to confirm your original stance.1. player A has possession of ball.
2. player B strips ball and takes possession. Player A no longer has possession.
3. Referee makes decision that player B has possession of ball.

Imo Walsh had already dislodged the ball somewhat away from Warbricks grasp and had more contact with the ball than Warbrick by the time Ezra layed a hand on him
