Except Ben Hunt has never missed the finals as a team's starting halfback. They have Ben Hunt... so that's immediately them out of the 8.
I don't know but I'm predicting a long year for the Broncos and the Sharks as well as the Tigers. Manly is very reliant on the health of DCE as are the Dogs with Foran. Both are good enough to lead their team deep into the finals. The Knights missed the eight in Bennetts 1st year from a solid base and some good recruitment and it would be a big ask to make the eight I reckon from a low base. Are their 8 teams with a poorer roster than the Knights?Probably one of the toughest years in recent times to pick. Huge amount is going to depend on new halves combinations and new spines clicking.
Should be up the top.
Midfield battle.
Sides set to struggle.
01. Roosters - Too strong a team to fail
02. Storm - As long as their spine stays fit.
03. Cowboys - Have a fairly strong lineup even if Thurston goes down.
04. Broncos - Boyd, Bird, Milford, McCullogh if fit are a decent spine.
05. Sharks - Still a very decent side on paper.
06. Eels - All depends how their halves fire.
07. Bulldogs - I honestly believe if we click, Mbye fires and can get someone firing alongside Foran we could end up as high as Top 4.
08. Knights - Have recruited too well to miss the 8.
09. Tigers
10. Dragons
11. Panthers
12. Rabbitohs
13. Raiders
14. Titans
15. Warriors
16. Sea Eagles
FIRST COACH SACKED: Griffin from Panthers midseason.
SECOND COACH SACKED/UNDER PRESSURE: Trent Barrett

So you think the Knights have a better side than us? Just don't see it. Our pack is much stronger than theirs and they have a lot of untested combinations and rocks and diamonds players in the backs. Roosters pack is soft and they are only one injury away from disaster. Dragons will be March premiers again and fade. Panthers are already in turmoil and Sharks haven't maintained their roster so they will be less lethal this year. I think we are in this up to our eyeballs. I agree the Cows and Storm are the guns at this stage but again much will depend on how healthy they stay.Hate to be a downer for us but my top 8 is;
1. Cowboys
2. Roosters
3. Dragons
4. Storm
5. Eels
6. Panthers
7. Knights
8. Sharks
9. Broncos
10. Bulldogs
11. Rabbits
12. Raiders
13. Tigers
14. Warriors
15. Manly
16. Titans (hard to pick this one, whilst they have a vast amount of talented attacking players, i think their defence will be horrible, especially out wide)
Pearce, Ponga, Watson, new spine and 2 raw talents. So you think the Knights have a better side than us? Just don't see it. I'm sure your opinion has already changed after last night......Pearce, Ponga, Watson, new spine and 2 raw talents.
If Roosters get a serious injury they will just use their unlimited cap space to get a mid season signing
Dragons finally have what they needed, a genuine 7 and a hard worker who wont give up in Graham.
Panthers, they have Maloney success follows him, they will scrape in.
I have confindince in our middle third just basically no where else, perhaps my opinion will change over the first month, but what we served up last year i cant see us in the 8 being a threat staright away. We got a change of coach and thats all we wanted, if it goes north or south im easy as i no we wont be boring anymore.

You lost me with this thread when you made the dogs 10th.Thoughts on positions 1-16 which we can look back at the end of round 26?
1. Roosters
2. Cowboys
3. Storm
4. St. Merge
5. Panthers
6. Parra
7. Broncos
8. Knights
9. Sharks
10. Dogs
11. Tigers
12. Raiders
13. Titans
14. Manly
15. Souths
16. Warriors
They don't really have a halves pairing yet. Croker and DCE I'm in no way sold about. Forward pack is a penalty machine with lots of errors in them.wow, you have Manly last.
I think they are a smoky myself,
Why you got them so low?
Fair call,They don't really have a halves pairing yet. Croker and DCE I'm in no way sold about. Forward pack is a penalty machine with lots of errors in them.
After yesterday Panthers could be lower than I predicted.
The bottom of ladder is going to be as big a battle as the mid section.
If DCE and Croker/Walker go down, they are on a one way trip to destination fucked.Fair call,
Its all just a guess at this stage, your guess is as good as anyone else's,
Its very unique putting Manly last, interesting to see how it all pans out.
I haven't got a clue where teams are going to finish. Other than the usual speculation.
I'm sure your opinion has already changed after last night......
On us perhaps, however panthers were off yesterday on paper they are easily a top 8 side, depends if they let internal dramas affect them.I'm sure your opinion has already changed after last night......
And the Knights? If you have the view that they need time to gel and can only get better why wouldn't the same apply to our side? And we have an international quality backline. On us perhaps, however panthers were off yesterday on paper they are easily a top 8 side, depends if they let internal dramas affect them.
