fair call. Each to the their own and IF JJ is appointed club captain then i'd definitely still be happy. I love the bloke and no one gives more then JJ on the field week in week out for our club and state but i dont want the burden of captaincy affecting him

Honestly, in my opinion
I can't think of anyone at our club better suited to handling the burden of captain better than Jackson

He is so mature and level headed and clearly comfortable within himself for who he is.

The players who struggle to adapt to being captain like Thaiday for example are generally not as mature and composed as someone like Jackson

Just think back to bobcat Ryan

Perfect example of a Jackson type guy

When he was appointed captain after price I felt like you do about Jackson

Bobcat changed my views.

I'm sure if Jackson becomes captain he to will change your perception much like bobcat changed mine

But when it comes to klemmer
No way can see him as captain much like I could never see why people said mason should be captain back in the day

I just don't understand why, when josh Jackson ticks more boxes

I can't think of any captain quality klemmer has over Jackson

But I can think of a few huge ones in the negatives for klemmer

Firstly
Klemmer, whilst being a nice guy, is a lunatic, and as a result the refs have a target on him
He can't reason with a ref on the field in the heat of the moment like a composed person and mature person can
Jackson wins hands down there

That's enough for me to instantly make Jackson captain over klemmer.

And for exactly that reason alone I can think of several other candidates who would make a better co captain than klemmer.

I'm fucked if I can see why Fittler or anyone else would call for klemmer to be captain simply for that huge reason

Much the same as I couldn't understand why there were people back in the day calling for mason to be our captain when talk of price was leaving

Just the aggression from klemmer to lead by example would be enough.

I think you would be surprised
I think Jackson does lead by example in his consistency, much like bobcat Ryan did

I think he does speak well to the media
He doesn't stutter or say ummmm a lot

His voice may be quiet, but he looks into the eyes of the reporter clearly and speaks sense and is relaxed and composed when doing so.

No one can influence a ref like cam smith
That's setting the bar too high mate

But I think Jackson has enough respect from the refs to interact with them effectively enough when required

And Jackson gave a mid week interview where he practically said the last 2 years were shit and we needed a new coach with new ideas

I'd go with Jacko... U need a Captain that is respected by officials. Jacko leading a leadership group of Foran, Woods and Tolman. Even throw in Jmoz for good measure.

Thats it, we all say we need a bulldog as coach (not an outsider) the same will apply for a choice of captain.
Jackson (is the obvious choice) as Klemmer is to agro and would affect his game much like Graham and Tolman doesnt deserve it imo.

Personally i think it would be between
Jmoz and jacko, jmoz has been there so long and deserves to be in the mix, and jacko typifys the dogs of old.
