Doing so thought would require him to break an existing long term contract apparently. That said, the bloke is probably the most dangerous player across any Rugby League code (yes, an even bigger try scorer than Barba, or Stewart). He scores in 88% of games he plays in compared to Barba at 77% and Stewart at 80%.

The Sun reported the Briscoe to Sharks rumour as a done deal a few months back http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...hty-to-make-long-awaited-move-Down-Under.html . It's not confirmed at all - neither Cronulla nor Hull announced this, so I guess The Sun is full of crap. Maybe if it's not info they've illegally hacked from someone's phone, their sources ain't too good...

The Tomkins thing is presumably a relic of his "exclusivity clause". The financial penalty of his leaving before the 3 year period ends would mean a club would have to pay massively over the odds. In all likelihood, teams will simply wait another year and get him once they can negotiate a deal that's not hamstrung by the sheer cost of dodging his contract penalties.
