IT'S A BIT LIKE THIS FELLOW FANS..
Following the failure of Kevin Moore, the powers at that time decided to find the best coach available, which was Des Hasler.
Hasler obviously hated our club and puting him in charge and giving him full control was like putting a fox inside the chook pen.
But the fox ate all the chooks and did such a good job, that now we still can't get any eggs.

Hated us so much he took us to 2 grandfinals and a minor premiership..

Shane Flanagan has built up connections and a lot of us have followed on with the hype. I'm cool either way, as long as the fans don't go toxic

You must be a dean pay fan boy..it’s not the 80’s the run hard tackle hard stuff won’t cut it in todays game.
It was the attitude.... tough, grinding, aggressive, bone crushing effort. They did it for eachother and quite frankly, loved smashing *****.

He only did it only out of greed for himself, to maximise his bonouses and extend his time at our club which was paying him twice what he was getting at Manly.
He also if you remember destroyed our club's future by backending contracts, and with the help of the pie eater set our junior development back at least 10 years.
They are the reasons why we have no eggs now.
BTW just ask Baa or Turvey if he had his heart in our club.

I disagree you can obviously win a game on some solid defence but you need to be a bit more creative these days not just running hard.just get a coach who knows what’s going on and forget about getting all the old bulldog greats in for a pep talk about how hard they were back in the day it’s been trialled and tested it didn’t work

Do you remember the last game of the 2001 regular season? Do you remember who we played and who went to the judiciary for striking Anasta to the head with his forearm while Anasta was on the ground. Yes, it was Barrett, he got off at the judiciary when clearly he shouldn’t have and ended up leading the dragons the following week to victory over us in the first finals game.
I totally forgot about that.. Good memory! Explains the beef..

He's actually right.
We need a no nonsense coaching staff that trains to win at all costs, not a PR coach or one that wants to be besties with everyone.
Then we need some hard nut forwards that will follow the game plan of you either win or you die trying.
For this Shane Flanagan is the man (providing kyle gets moved on with no issues, team needs to come first)
Then sign Liam Martin, the guy literally plays like a Bulldog, runs hard, hits hard and leaves everything out there.

So much bitterness from you lot, as usual.

At least the bloke cares. And he’s not saying anything you haven’t all said before.

It’s refreshing to hear a media personality giving honest opinions about the club with no vested interests or hidden agendas.

Do you negative nellies ever stop sooking? Lol. This is a good day for the club and you’re still finding things to whinge about.
.
How true is this.

If you're a forward it does, that's exactly what we need.

I think this DNA stuff is just a rod for the clubs back..What does it really mean? Your passionate about playing? You should be uncompromising? You should be mentally tough? You should be fit? Be willing to do all you can do to win? These are the things all good PROFESSIONAL first graders need to have.. and unfortunately the Bulldogs DNA the coach has to deal with is the board..

I see the DNA as a standard that has been long lost, does it require a ex bulldog to bring it back, not really..

It just requires the club, coach and players existing and incoming to know what those expectations are and that nothing else is acceptable.

Everyone plays a moving part and if one is broken the rest can't function.

Two things Braith said that make sense:
1.We need to recruit players who will fit into the Bulldog family - not just take superstars coming onto the market.
2. Barrett had Gould's support, but it was Barrett who made the call, not Gus.

I reckon the Monday meeting would have just been putting all cards on the table and looking for ways to turn the season around. Barrett must have decided there was no way forward under him. I think the strain and frustration was too much.
