Every team watches every video of every other team many times over. Every team has scouts at every opposition teams’ matches who make videos and notes on every play. It’s not unusual to see opposition teams’ scouts at open training sessions. Especially as games against them approach.

A few generic words in an interview is nothing compared to the quality and amount of information teams routinely gather themselves on their opposition.
