    Bulldogs throw shark a lifeline

My ACL snapped and withered - scans show two dangly bits that don't meet in the middle. Knee is fine in a straight line but doesn't like going sideways. Being able to play top sport with it does happen but is pretty super-human.

    Send Galvin to NSW cup.

We've had our first origin-affected season for ages and a lot of injuries and suspensions through the last couple of months. Galvin's signing added to the disruption but it's not the only thing affecting our form. We either got him now or Parra did. It's better for us long term IMO and we...

    Sexton to quit Bulldogs

I like all our spine players but overall it's mid range IMO. Toby's the most mid for me and we just need something different. We succeed on the back of strong defence and great players like Kiks, Kiraz, King and Critta outside the spine. Burto's long kicking's a great asset and Tracey goes all...

I watched him a bit at centre and wing and I rate him as genuine FG, back then at least. Better suited to centre IMO. Not express but decent pace. Saw him in a NSW cup game recently and he was pretty ordinary, but I reckon he'll become decent FG backup at least.

Woods shows enough skill to see the potential. HIs ability across a few ball sports shows he's a natural athlete. I haven't seen him much but when good judges rate him I reckon he's a good chance of making it. But for now he's just a young bloke learning to play with men. What is obvious is...

Would be great to keep Curren. He's only 27 at the end of next year and could have his best years ahead. But it's gonna be hard to afford him with Thompson, Hayes, Todd and Latu looking like the future, and the Bears very interested in Preston according to Florimo.

First on the Ladder after Round 16!

We're first and have had as bad a run with injuries and suspensions as any team. Our draw was kind for a change but we could only play what was in front of us. Our full team's coming back as our draw gets harder. The bye is well placed to work on things coming into that period.

We can't expect to have superstars in every position. Especially a couple of years on from being perennial cellar dwellers. Perspective

The last 2 comeback wins have set us up beautifully on the table. The way our byes are falling and suspensions to key forwards, we should be as fresh as any team for the run home. Even better if Hughes and Todd come back strong from injury.
  42. albatross

Do we consider dropping Monty for Wilson

Monty's been better than I thought he would be. His yardage out of our 20 has been pretty good. I don't reckon he deserves to be dropped, but at some stage I'd like a better winger there.
  43. albatross

    Opinion Bailey Hayward

Bailey's game's gone up a level since he filled in for Burto. The extra confidence showed in his involvement in two big 2nd half comebacks. Definitely one of the best 14's in the comp right now.

I've heard a lot of people talk like Ciro in my work life but very few who can walk it too. Ciro's a genuine leader and every player is engaged. Opinion Burton’s Running Game

If we can win that well with a rusty Burto we're doing ok. He looked confident apart from a couple of errors and there was more good signs than bad for him. Sexton sharing more kicking is starting to pay off.

    Hayes injured?

With Taaffe, and Hayes now probably dropping out, and Bailey to the bench, the last spot's probably between Todd and DSF (assuming Sitili, Kiks and Burto all come back). Curran can start at prop so I hope Todd stays.
