Show me proof that he is too slow to be a half. Go back and watch him chase down Ponga in Round 7 last year. DCE is a speed demon is he?

    Luai's dad

Man Tales of Tiger Town just keeps on giving Cronk drilled into the 64-0 demolition tonight on Matty+Cronk. Tigers playing a defensive style with no line speed, Storm just kept going with the outside in ball to negate the sliding defence. Benji is being found out, I reckon he is gone before...

    Opinion We need new halves

Hayward has more upside than Sexton. Which is why I believe we will give up on Sexton and proceed with 7. Hayward 6. Burton next year.

    Salmon injured

Find it hilarious that Salmon use to cop so much flack on here and now he is a fan favourite. But yes originally I thought we had plenty of forward depth but with all these suspensions and injuries it is definitely being tested.

The best half I’ve ever seen

It's unbelievable and explains why we should be premiership favourites. But vitally we still had our guns in Critta, Kikau and Burto. With one of those players missing we lose something in attack.

News Three clubs circle Sexton as Bulldogs stall on contract talks

True, but young guys are already surpassing him. We are a top 4 defensive side, but not a top 4 offensive side. The reason is as clear as day, our 7 not top 8 in his field. And our 1 is not top 4 in his.

2025 Round 8 - Other Team Lists and Game Discussion

I'll also add, I believe Phase 4 will be eliminating all first contact tackles below the waist. That is all moderate to high first contact will need to be waist height to mid torso.

Probably, but my bet is you will still see significantly less HIAs.
  24. Aristidiz

Try or No Try, You Decide!

Yeah I agree, actual clear definitions are needed. But the NRL are more interested in creating Obscurity as opposed to Clarity with these sort of things. They want to make the game less exact and less predictable for the betting agencies to profit.

Whats even the point of playing the game anymore?

2025 Round 8 - Other Team Lists and Game Discussion

They are trying to stamp out any contact to the head. First goal is to completely eliminate upper torso and higher tackles. Once this is achieved 9/10 HIAs will be eliminated. Yes you will still have some knee and hip collisions, but look at how many HIAs there are for that vs swinging arm...
  27. Aristidiz

Try or No Try, You Decide!

Well in the rule book there is no specified depth from top of grass blade to top of top soil for the definition of 'ground'. But certainly touching one blade is no try. If there is contact with the ball half way down the mean length of grass then I would say that would be given a try.

2025 Round 8 - Other Team Lists and Game Discussion

It was 12v12 at that point, 11v12 would have been a very bad look. Cronk alluded to this on air, but then back stepped to say its not necessarily why the ref didn't sin bin him.

Yep, the top of a blade of grass is not the ground. Keen to see some photos of those. If it touches the ground with 0.0001 Newton of force for 0.0001 seconds it's still downward pressure and still grounded therefore TRY.
  31. Aristidiz

Try or No Try, You Decide!

The ball must be grounded is my understanding, it's not on the ground in any of those photos. "Grounding the Ball" means: Placing the ball on the ground with hand or arm pressure; or Exerting downward pressure on the ball with the hand(s), arm(s), or front of the body (torso) while the ball...

Gerard Sutton SHAFT'S The Bulldogs Again

Just re-watched that first half. His first key penalty was 'tackled after held called' that was when we had them pinned in their half, that set the tone for the game. The 2nd try was also a forward pass from Carrigan to Haas, he was inline with it and made no call. He also had a dubious high...

Yes we were pure shite in that first 40 minutes, BUT Before today's match: The Canterbury Bulldogs have a very poor record when Gerard Sutton is the referee, winning only one out of their last 15 games with him officiating. This translates to a win rate of just 6.67%. Stayed true to form …...

    Sexton!!!

Probably his worst game of the year. But to be fair a few key players were way off their best in that first 40. I mean how often do you see Preston drop a ball in our own half like that. Still Sexton's ability is a limiting factor for us to take that next step.

This game is big because we will be facing three opponents: 1. Donkeys 2. Sutton 3. QLD Crowd A key will be making sure we score first and keep the lead. He would be a complete fool not to sign with us. If Gus comes knocking, you don't say no, unless the money is not where you think it should be. In his case has the opportunity to slot into a top 4 team in the coming 1-2 years, Crazy not to take it.

Nah. He isn't much of an upgrade over Tracey.
  70. Aristidiz

    Sexton!!!

That is a good deal for the club if true. Surely he would have received offers in excess of $600k from clubs in need. It's a win-win signing, 2 years allows us to maintain top 4 contention whilst allowing Woods and Tia to develop into who we think they will develop into.

Rumour Dogs set to make offer for lachlan galvin

The Galvin shit show will continue for some time. So it is a good thing we have pulled out of the conversation. If Tigers management insist on paying hard ball and making him wait the 2 years out, then it's going to likely destabilise them. Win-win for us.

    Your early 2025 SOO teams

Yeah Moses has to be there, best half in the comp right now (sample size 1 game but still). Kiraz, Preston, Crighton will all be picked. Smokey could be Xerri and King. Burto probably misses out. Mann could be an in for QLD. In short we could be a little decimated, but we have depth and the...

Fullback is probably the position we have the least amount of depth in. Taafe is a significant backwards step from Tracey. Pressure on Sexton and Burton is only a positive thing. They shouldn't get too comfortable. Galvin and Woods would be a Cherry-Evans & Foran type combo though, it's actually insane when you combine it with our current defensive system.
