You might be onto something there as I clearly remember after RFM had been out of the team for an extended period with injury he came back and stayed in reserves in what I thought was hugely inordinate amount of time.

Thought, why would a guy be a regular first grader, then cop an injury, and when ready to play be consigned to our Reserve squad for months.
He could have also been getting blitzed at training and saw the writing on the wall.

People need to get over this “we shouldn’t have let Lane go” bullshit. He lasted 1 season with us, 1.5 with Manly and 1 season with the Warriors, plainly there are reasons why he couldn’t lock down a position. Whatever those reasons were he may have finally overcome them and after 4 years of club dumpings has lasted more than 1 season at Parramatta.

So the quality that RFM put up over 8 seasons has been better ?
get out of here with that logic. Lane is quality first grade player where RFM has been lucky he’s been at dogs for his career. Wouldn’t have played Anywhere near the NRL games for any other club with his performance and injuries over that time.

You logged in from the wrong account to post that. Can you log out and post it from your other account to keep the consistency in trolling and baiting please
Yes, I was about to type the same thing.
04 you were supposed to be Polly Waffle when you responded.
You are making it very difficult for us to keep up with your trolling.

That's a pretty wild assumption (RFM for Lane), 2 can play at that game, maybe if we had kept Lane we wouldn't have been able to afford Kikau. Or maybe Preston wouldn't have been promoted. It's not as simple as player A versus player B.

The fact remains Lane bounced around multiple clubs for 4 years, there were reasons for that.

Unfortunately I think he showed very poor judgement through that whole matter.

There was no way he was going to stay at the club.

He seems like a nice guy who made some mistakes.

Anyway, playing in that Saints team will be punishment enough.
No problems with his retention even though he wasn't worth retaining, barring in mind he was the only player eligible for the caps loyalty allowance.
The problem was, he supposedly opened his mouth to our nemesis DrunkenField, IMO trust was lost !

And as a leader that is a death sentence

I dont understand how it was a mistake... In hind sight we can say it wasn't the best decision but at the time RFM was fully fit, probably first pick on an edge with Kikau before Presto came into play, Had to play him in the middle after we lost our front row and saying all the right things in the initial contract negotiations.

Nobody knew he was going to find it tough to be a leader, nobody knew he was going to get upset when he lost his position to Preston and nobody knew he was going to shit the bed in the middle.

Shit happens move on, no damge done SHUT THE FCUK UPO TROLLS AND MUPPETS.

we were in a mess before gus came and now it's gotten worse
How? Last year we were riddled with injures.
Went through 20 plus different players, debut 7 rookies, had 5 changes in the halves.
Missing forward most of the year.
Add to that a rookie coach and a few bad eggs.
2024 will decide how we are travelling.
Plus before Gus we struggled to attract players, Napa was an elite signing for us.
