Kyle and error?
With his future uncertain beyond next year, Kyle Flanagan is putting his faith in family. He is believed to be leaning towards having his father, Shane, take care of his affairs.

There have been obvious options for Kyle: the Dragons, when Shane was in charge of their roster; and Manly, where Shane is now the assistant coach. He wasn’t recruited by his dad for the Dragons and it appears Cooper Johns is the back-up half option at Manly. While Kyle has been told by the Bulldogs he is free to go if he can find another club, there have been few takers.

What seemed to be the tipping point for Kyle with advisor Wayne Beavis was that Beavis found Kyle a club in England, but the halfback didn’t take up the offer because he is confident of making the Bulldogs No.7 jumper his own. The fact the club was happy for him to move to England says a lot.

He seriously fucked up his last NRL Deal lol. Some tier two super league club will get him at best.

Kyle needs to find a new deal elsewhere and take it immediately, it seems like it's obvious to everyone except Kyle that the Bulldogs won't be offering a new contract.

Schuster won’t be the answer for Manly. Maybe we need Ciraldo to drop Kyle to NSW Cup for the first few rounds until daddy comes to the rescue

You can't blame him for wanting to stay when he's well paid and is at the only NRL club where he starts by default..

Going to the Super League is probably the best thing for his career. He could come back a more confident player in a few years or decide to stay. The best he can hope for in the NRL is a backup role on far less money than he'd get in the ESL.

It doesn’t matter where he goes he will be paid out his full contract.

The advantage of him going to Super League for the Bulldogs. Is his contract is removed from our cap 100%. If he goes to Manly and they offer him minimum wage. We still get hit with the rest of his deal on our cap.

Let’s also not forget we don’t have any options for 7 in our top 30 currently.

Flange should take the super league offer while it is on the table.
Rejected at the roosters and the dogs he is delusional if he thinks he is suddenly going to transform into an NRL standard half.
If he hangs around he will have no currency as a reserve grader and his next contract will be with the Mounties.

It will become increasingly obvious for Flanagan over the off season as to where his future lies - if the development and train n trial and 2nd tier halves out train him and get more time in the top squad in opposed sessions it would be a challenge not to take notice. Then again he might improve.

He needs more time in either Super League or reserve grade to learn his trade with less pressure

Flanagan lives a Delusional existence. Even if it was obvious to everyone that someone else was going to take his spot. He would be clueless to that. His father has brainwashed him to believe he is the goat.

He’s had enough time imo. 3 clubs have given him the opportunity. Will never be up to it.
I've heard a lot of commentators / ex players say it takes years to learn to become a decent halfback. He's still pretty young. He started playing oay in reserve grade just before he was bought back into first grade. He really needs to learn from experience in game conditions somewhere. I read somewhere he was playing in a touch footy comp in the off season. Stuff lie that will definitely help his attacking skillset. I agree he's not quite ready for NRL. He needs to finish a few more years of his apprenticeship somewhere else other than NRL.
