A trio of Canterbury players have been ordered to immediately undergo a COVID test and self-isolate after NSW Health identified they'd attended an exposure site.

The NRL revealed on Thursday that Dylan Napa, Brandon Wakeham and Aaron Schoupp had attended the Royal Hotel in Bondi on June 20, which was also visited by a person who has tested positive to the virus.

Until the test results of the three players are known, the remainder of the Bulldogs squad
cannot train.
The decision doesn't affect any State of Origin player ahead of Sunday's game two in Brisbane, while none of the players have been in contact with representatives from any other club.

Due to Sydney's COVID outbreak, all clubs in the greater Sydney, Wollongong and Central Coast areas have been placed on Level 3 biosecurity protocols since Tuesday evening and cannot leave home except to train or access essential services.

The NRL has also issued a directive to all Sydney-based clubs, mandating that players and staff were not to attend restaurants, clubs or bars in the Waverley Local Government area on June 17.

So do they isolate until a negative test or 14 days? 14 days would mean missing Manly game.

The whole squad cannot train apparently until the test results come out. If a positive test comes out it’ll be interesting and might start derailing the NRL season
All this is ridiculous when the PCR test can come back false positive 90% of the time according to the inventor.

The whole thing is a farce. Get over covid already. V'landys don't give in to these lockdown maniac premiers for goodness sake.
Even people that have had the full vaccine can't travel. The whole thing is a circus that we are tired of. Build a bridge and get over it already. Wake up Australia....your country is dying of fear mongering.

LOL everything’s Covid now, if you get a cramp it’s Covid, if you trip and fall it’s covid. If you blow your load too early you probably get diagnosed with covid.
Yeah covid is the word these days isn't it?

Covid this, covid that, covid blah blah blah

Covid provides plenty of fuel to fill up nearly every news segment

Why do we always have the morons that can’t comply with a simple directive. They get told they can’t go out in that area and they don’t give a fuck and still do it. It explains the lack of discipline on the field when they can’t do it off the field. Hope they all cop a huge fine.

I mean, they were there on Sunday the 20th, so went after the game. At the time the lockdown wasn’t in effect (it started Wednesday for the public, Tuesday for the players). They didn’t do anything wrong other than get unlucky with contract tracking.

They did actually mate as they were instructed not to go to bars in the Waverley area 3 days before that.

Neither of them seem real sharp though so they probably had no idea what the Waverley area consisted of.

Covid tests will be back by noon I would reckon so no big deal in regards to training , etc. They will cop a fine though

these 3 should have the book thrown at them, privileged as they are being highly paid sportsman, while thousands of families have faced so much hardship and disruption including the loss of their businesses due to covid and its restrictions and the stupidityfrom individuals, all state governments have issued very strong stringent restrictions at times which have effected all of us to varying degrees, we comply to ensure ours and others safety

these 3 morons think its ok to not only disregard rnl directions but to place the whole Canterbury side in jeopardy of stand downs
hope they cop huge fine and are made to do real community work as punishment
