Leave the kid at FB. Re-sign him. Invest more money into the hooking position. The kids for speed, safe under the high ball, positional play is good. Let him have a decent crack at FB.

That try he scored last night off a set play was a cracker. Put his body on the line and barged over.

He has always been shuffled between FB and wing. Leave him there the rest of this year and watch him shine.

It's a tough one as DWZ gave us so much go forward from fullback with his fearless runs and massive metres the last few weeks and quick play the balls..

Meaney is still effective on the wing whereas Dallin seems to struggle on the wing. It's a good problem to have with some players finally playing well..

Meaney and Renouf are doing more than enough to get re-signed. Despite much better games from Hoppa and Napa, they should still be moved on regardless. We need to move on from those two..

DWZ will be missing for at least a few more weeks so no reason for Meaney not to retain the 1 for the time being. It's defenitely his best position but I'd hold off on talks about re-signing him for now.

Meaney won't ever be like Papenhuyzen, but there is no reason why he can't improve his game out of sight like Ryan has. All Nick needs us better players around him, confidence and proper specialist coaching.

Kid has talent but is no where near in the class of other fullbacks. He is way too small and soft. Watch DwZ kick returns and watch Meaneys. He is a good kid but def nowhere near the type of FB we need if we want to compete with top teams

Yet people here are calling for the signing of Matt Dufty. I’ll tell you one thing for sure, Meaney has 100 times the heart Dufty has

Meaney is tough but doesn't overtly show it.

He has the speed, a bit of agility but needs to develop some aggression to take the next step and also develop a passing game and link better into backline movements.

He has the basics there but needs specialist training and psych sessions.

Would love to see him fully realise his talents.

What's his ceiling though? Is there a world he's a Top 10 Fullback?

In no particular order
1. Tedesco
2. Papenhuyzen
3. Ponga
4. RTS
5. Trbojevic
6. Latrell
7. Gutherson
8. Brimson
9. Kennedy
10. CNK
11. Edwards
12. Dufty
13. Laurie
14. Isaako
15. Holmes

I think he's a Bottom 3 Fullback, no fault of his own.

He'd probably be the last fullback on that list (unfortunately gives him "the wost fullback in the NRL" tag). If someone was arguing he's slightly better than last it doesn't really change the point. He's a good back up option tho.

What happened to him? I caught the game 5 mins in. Why did he not play?

I still think we needed to persist with Allan at Fullback. Guy was pretty average in the chances he was given, but a few weeks isn't anywhere as best as much as what some others have been given.

In saying that Allan's defense in the centres last night against Ramien has to be commended.

i see Meaney similar to Dufty where they were given a spell yet somehow come back to show they're still there. Meaney is on par with Dufty in physical attributes and possibly speed. If he adds a few things to his game with the right guidance, I can't see why he can't be an answer to a stable fullback.
Like others have said, our money is better spent elsewhere if Meaney improves.

He has an infection in I think his knee. Had surgery and is in hospital now.
