Players can have a bad season. Doesnt help when the team only won 3 games. Not many wingers would look good spending most of the game/season defending, under pressure etc instead of scoring tries. Not to mention impact of losing on confidence and motivation.

I don't expect complete agreement on Lewis. He's given me facepalm moments too. I just don't think the level of criticism is justified. People love a scapegoat though.

There's a real possibility that Flanagan and Burton won't end up here. We may well be seeing a lot of Lewis next year. He only has to impress the coaching staff to get the chance to win a place in the side. None of our opinions are valid when weighed against the opinions of those who make the decisions. Even Bellamy reputedly thought highly enough of him to chase him.

You are right about the level of criticism about Lewis, the coaches that kept him in a position he obviously doesn’t have the capacity to play should have copped the bulk of the criticism and bellyache didn’t want him as a half but even his interest faded quickly when he got a handle on Lewis’s personality
