The club can blame themselves for the constant speculation.. they should of been way more decisive then they have been.

So the cubs a mess and they’re looking to sign a fucking union coach

this has got to be bullshit...Eddy can stick with rugby yawnion
Did you even read the article? We have zero intention of signing Eddie Jones and the article even conceded that there’s been zero connection from either party.

It’s just yet another media beat up

Brad thorn is another good coach that should be given serious concideration. Some men are just leaders that people love to play for.

Coached Australia and England to finals of the World Cup although runner up both times. Can coach a footy side and is an excellent man manager with plenty of discipline. Would need a couple of Ennis/Kimmorley types around him if we took a chance. Him or Shaun Wane would be good picks if we didn't go with a current or past NRL coach or assistant.
Has he ever beaten the All Blacks? If he has managed a fluke like that, it's a plus.

What has Jones achieved in Union?
You asked ................
Coached the Brumbies to the GF in 2000 and then in 2001 to win the Super 12 Championship the first ever that a non NZ team won it. Interesting side line, he pinched George Smith from Manly at a rugby league trial game in 2001. Same year also won the series in the British Lions Tour, no small feat in itself. Springboks World Cup win 2007 as team technical adviser. Took a team mostly composed of nobodies to 2 consecutive All Japan RU Titles, then Japan to win the All Asian RU series 7 times plus beating the Springboks in the 2015 World Cup. In 2014 won the Pacific Nations Cup with Fiji. In 2016 coached GB to the Grand Slam of RU winning every game in the 6 Nations Tournament. In 2016 Coached England to a 3-0 whitewash of the Wallabies. In 2019 he coached England to the Word Cup GF after beating the All Blacks in the semi. His international win ratio with Australia is 58%, with Japan 71% and with England 78%. All teams coached against the All Blacks he has an almost 50% win loss ratio, that in itself is no small achievement.

In summary he's a pretty farkin good coach.

I can't see how risking more years of shit on a coach who has never coached RL can be a good idea. Same with all those hanger-ons like Kimmorley and Ryles blah blah blah, get a fukin Coach, how hard is it?

What s stupid comment this one is; "However, the silence has fuelled speculation over his future amid suggestions there is genuine interest in returning to Australia to becoming involved in the NRL." So because nothing at all is said they can come to a conclusion like that? Wtf.....

I've said this in a few threads already, but while there is speculation that Pay is on the way out we'll be linked to everyone who is available regardless of whether any proof exists that they're on the radar of management. The boards silence gives the media free reign to toss names around.

As if they need it, they have to fill their quota every day, coach speculation is easy metres.

Too much of a risk to hire a Union coach to be honest, doesn't matter how strong his credentials are. I do really like the fact that Kimmorley and Ryles are being spoken about as assistants though.

The drums are beating loudly, club needs to come out and make a decision on this asap otherwise it'll further destabalize an already disastrous season and massively impact recruitment for next season. The longer the board stays silent the more we look like a basket case.
Lol what a circus our club has become.....honestly....is the club for real that they haven't spoken to any coaches ? What the fuk are they doing? We are already going to lose a player like Cotric because the club can't get their act together to work out who will be coaching next year....they had all the time.to plan the coaching situation but we had to wait until 10 weeks into this season to work out whether pay deserves a contract for 2021...I feel sorry for Pay that he hasn't had the chance to coach with a decent roster but the club has now
3 m to spend on some quality players....can we depend on Pay to recruit the right players and to bring the best out of the players and will he attract the players we need? We can't risk this but the question can we recruit a quality coach?

Probably is but I for one would be very happy if our club was sounding out world class coaches like him or someone like Shaun Wane who has killed it in the SL. The last thing I want to hear is that we set the bar at Trent fucking Barrett or Jason Ryles..

No one is arguing his credentials as a Rugby coach but he's never coached league before. It's a completely different game with different tactics and rules. You can't just assume he'll make the transition easily.

If he was so interested in coaching League, why didn't he do so in the last fifteen years in between coaching ten different Rugby teams? This is probably just some PR for Jones to get a new job in Rugby...

Besides, the Andersons are so stuck in the past that they're more likely to be looking at Alan Jones as coach rather than Eddie Jones.

Bulldogs need an experienced and establish coached to help the rebuild.

Anthony Griffin or Neil Henry.

If they bring in someone that has never coached first grade or NRL before, we are in deep shit for a long time lol

What has Jones achieved in Union?
He has won a World Cup,took Australia to within one game of winning a World Cup,took England to 6 nations champions, among many other successes, rugby is a very technical game compared to the simplicity of rugby league, and the fact he likes rugby league,in my personal opinion he would be a success, our club is such a mess at the moment,we don’t need another assistant coach,we need a hard head like jones or Anthony griffin,.
