Good morning/afternoon boys and girls.

I never say this as facts. It's an estimated guess + my opinion.

If I was to go through our current contract players and have an estimated guess what they're on/we'd re-sign (that's also imo who we'd re-sign) them on it'd look something like this:

1. Averillo ~200k
2. DWZ ~500k
3. Hopoate ~500k
4. Reimis ~200k
6. Foran ~400k
7. Wakeham ~200k
8. Jackson ~600k
9. Elliott ~400k
10. JMK ~200k
11. To'omaga ~200k
12. Napa ~600k
13. Smith ~200k

That is ~4.2m

Other players off contract: Cogger, RFM, Harper, Holland, Montoya, Sue, Tass and Tolman.

Other players contracted for 2021

1. Britt ~200k
2. Crichton ~200k
3. Katoa ~200k
4. Meaney ~200k
5. Ogden ~200k
6. Stimson ~200k

That is ~1.2m

We know Thompson is coming for ~800k.

That means we already have ~6.2m/9.9m in the salary cap filled between 20 players (top 30). We have ~$3,700,000 to spend on 10 players. That's an average of ~370k per player.

Let's say we sign or promote 5 players on ~200k. That's another ~1m gone and we're left with ~$2,700,000. That leaves us with 5 spots to fill and a new average of ~540k per player.

I'd also just like to say a lot of players I have listed on ~200k are and would be on less. There will also be multiple players on or close to minimum wage (~115k in 2021). This will mean we'll have even more to spend and a higher average to spend per top player.

I hope this explains it. Also remember this is an educated guess.

*I forgot Lewis, include him with the 5 players on ~200k.

Which ones though? Either way, they wouldn't carry over into 2021 and limit the cap space for next year.
No, that’s right and why the club have said our salary cap will be back to “normal” as of 2021.
Definitely Foran (his is apparently huge), Tolman? and anyone else that was signed or re-signed by Des for this current season

Sorry.. I think we were talking about different things.. I knew about the backended deals for this year and the previous two. I thought you were talking about paying players to play at other clubs like Mbye or Woods etc which wouldn't carry over into '21.

I’m certain the club is leaking this figure so that they won’t have to pay overs they would have to have almost double that
Good point. Are they that clever?

It’s Elliott, Foran, Tolman, Holland and Montoya that are the only ones left that re-signed under Des/Dib.
Ok so a bit of cash there. I haven’t seen Tolman’s contract and knowing Des I’m glad I haven’t

Him and Twin Turbo could sink a business like woolies or coles in 2 months I reckon
Not if I was privy to all the information behind the scenes. I've said straight up that this is an educated guess and I think you'll be finding out I was more than right next year.

Until the current board get some results on the board the jury will still be out on them..

Its one thing releasing good players that other clubs are happy to sign.. But its alot more difficult attracting & signing quality players..

Over to you Lynne & co..

There is another thread going atm about what we need to improve the team. My opinion is the answer depends on where they are going to play averillo and rfm and if they sre going to sign foran at a much cheaper rate.
Potentially we only need 4 players. A centre, a hooker, 1 more forward and a half, on top of thommo. 3m that have been mentioned in media is a lot to get quality players in these positions. I believe 4 or 5 really good players will change us in a big way. Can build on that again in 2022.

I dont think ive seen a team spent 6 or 7m worth of players in 1 season in nrl history. Thats like getting 10 new players worth 600 700k each!
Pls dont say roosters..

surely some of those are front loaded to chew up unused cap space.

End of the day we’re all guessing how much we have and don’t have for next year
And that’s a rare fact on the kennel
