Elliott has definitely performed well this season, but what other club would actually take him as a starting lock? Warriors and maybe Dragons?
Knights and Sharks.

Wait a fucking second. I just read the posts I missed out on and was wondering how the fuck origin talk got into this thread.

Did someone seriously fucking suggest elliot was going to play origin??

Lmfao.

As finches said there's a long list of players better than him for lock.

Then add in

Frizzel
Graham
Corner
Crichton
Fitzgibbon( he's younger than elliot and already better than him)
David fifita

And somehow elliot is going to be picked ahead of all these players for origin?

Lmfao ok whatever
Well my fingers are crossed lol

You think ?
Jai arrow
Josh McGuire
Carrigan
Which lock would you prefer, 1 or 2? The stats are taken from this year (average per game). After you pick let me know which one is better offensively and which one is better defensively (gets through more work). Then let me know if there is really much between them when considering everything.

Two different players, player one and two (not named on purpose). Average minutes, tries, try assists, etc (per game) for the season so far. I'd just like if you could answer the question I wrote in the previous post, if it's too confusing don't worry about it.

Ask it in plain English

but I love the way Jai arrow plays
He’s been playing injured this year but last year he was an absolute machine

Elliott
-more tries
-more try assists
-more linebreaks
-more linebreak assists
-more tackle breaks
-more offloads
-less penalties conceeded
*1.79 tackles per minute
*1.65 metres per minute

Carrigan
-more minutes
-more tackles (1.37 tackles per minute)*
-more metres (2.28 metres per minute)

The eye test also favours Elliott.
Elliott is also playing in a worse team.

does this help?

To me you're underestimating Elliott's ability and overestimating Carrigan's ability.

For ~400k you'd be mad not to re-sign Elliott considering everything.

You reckon Nathan Brown gets a run for the same reason?

Beside from the high shot last night Nathan brown killed it. Saw him save 3 tries and was in everything

I thought I read somewhere he’s eligible for the kiwis or that he was a New Zealander ?

If not he’d be origin quality for sure

Let me put it in black and white
I wouldn’t pay Elliot 40k let alone 400k
I wouldn’t want him anywhere near my side
He’s been bog average for 5 years and offers one good game every 10 at best
His missed tackles are at times embarrassing and his handling is rocks or diamonds.

There was a reason we chased Carrigan so hard last year
The guy has a motor on him and can go all day
Carrigan has showed more in 18 months than mr Elliot has shown in 5 years

hope I don’t offend you

Elliott is statistically better than Carrigan in almost every area. The eye test also favours Elliott (e.g. competitiveness, explosiveness, etc). I sense some bias here. Elliott and Carrigan have made the same amount of miss tackles (Elliott makes more tackles per minute) and errors by the way, but Carrigan has given away more penalties. Elliott also plays for a worse team. You have a very good argument, not.

He played for Italy I remember, pretty sure he played City vs Country. The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of him playing as a small prop off the bench.

I'm biased because I want to re-sign him badly, but I have statistics to back up why. The people hating on Elliott are talking out of their ass.

I think Elliot has a spot in our squad, especially at the moment. Im very much of the opinion that he shouldn't be on an edge, and his ideal position is being the bench and being used sparingly. But i also believe Carrigan is potentially a much better player than Elliot with a much higher ceiling.
