Where are the rumours outside the Telecrap and The Kennel?
OK, so if there's disharmony, that doesn't excuse the players from not putting in. They are professionals who are well paid to do a job.
And if Jacko isn't 'that guy' then as much as I think he's been a great servant for the club - do we need a new leader?
Let's put it this way.. If our club wasn't such a mess right now, there wouldn't be these rumours whether true or not.

I don't think Jackson was ever suited to being a captain for those reasons.

:fearful:
Yeah DD I agree he took the job nobody wanted.. but maybe now with plenty of salary cap space a marquee coach may want to come and build his own team. Bellamy to bring Munster with him... dreams are free :tearsofjoy:
Sure mate - and this is where my position appears to be mis-understood.
I'm not saying Pay is the guy for the long term.
I'm saying change for the sake of change most often achieves nothing.
By all means when we know more about the plans for 2021 and beyond there may be further changes required. Until then...

If that's the case why did he take the Tigers job and inherit and have to mop up Cleary's mess?
I guess when you take up a coaching job the majority of the time you will be cleaning up someone's mess. The mess Cleary left behind was obviously not as bad as what Des left behind here.

In the first instance, sure.
But let's take Jacko as an example. Just signed a multi-year extension, so he's going to be around a while yet.
Let's say he and Deano were at odds and he believed Deano was taking the club down the wrong path.
Let's also say he sensed a growing discontent within the ranks.
As Captain and a long term employee, would he do nothing further? I don't believe so.
That article provides no evidence on what's really going on and it's simply cashing in on people's emotions.
I agree on the lack of evidence bit
I absolutely despise the source of the story
But
Do you agree that some players are playing in the wrong positions ?
Do you agree that some talented young players should've already been given their chance in first grade under the circumstances ?
You know...We can't afford to keep our heads buried in the sand !!!

Where there's smoke there's fire
It's normal, when the team is loosing, players start to doubt themselves and everything and everyone involved.
Most importantly, how would you feel if you were a young and hopeful player stuck in lower grades behind such under performing team loosing hope of ever improving your game ?
The questions are...
Has Pay been doing a good job utilizing the available talent we have ?
Is Hill succeeding or failing to properly recruit the right talent for 2021 season as promised knowing we might have missed the boat already (1/12/19)
Does the board truly believe that they are on target to achieve what they were voted in for ?
Or do we employ a 5 year Gould plan and then hope for the best ?
All I want to know is what happened to our clubs blue prints ???
Maybe we should ask Paul Dunn, He took them with him to South Sydney on his failed CEO adventure.
Goulds famous 5 year plans are a bigger scam than Bernie Madoff Investments Co.

Couldn't be arsed reading much further than the last few pages ...

So, the article is from the Daily Teledump. Right? The one newspaper that's sprouted so much shit about the Dogs over the years I truly hope you're all boycotting reading it ...

Four senior players went to Pay to complain about his approach to the game? Making specific demands in regard to the lineup?

#1 Our Senior players are an absolute joke atm. Would like to think they're looking at themselves rather than blaming others.
#2 The article gives no direct quotes. "We believe" "Sources" blah blah blah
#3 They apparently named specific changes they wanted. Are we to believe that players would actually be so brazen?
#4 It's the fucking Teledump FFS

Haven't we learnt as a supporter not to take anything from that newspaper seriously? And that articles these day are simply clickbait?

Not supporting Pay, but at the same time I'm not going to jump on the guy over something that's clearly made up.

Yeah I get that mate it’s about being loyal to the blue and white and not the individuals.. I respect that. but in all honesty we are starring at 4 straight years missing the finals... hard to cop for our proud club. Throw a dog a bone so to speak..

The “4 senior players” is a smokescreen.
This is isn’t fake news. If you think the players are happy with Pay & his coaching staff’s decisions & what’s going on you’re kidding yourself.
There are players within the squad that are unhappy with team selections, positional play & tactics. There is no joy for players when their voices aren’t heard by coaching staff & club management. When they’re not enjoying their football, they vent their spleen to their player manager;- the journalists’ source(s)

Did he inherit a mess? Yes he did .
Did he clean it up ?
Yes he did
Are the tigers successful?
Yes they are
Did dean pay inherit a mess?
Yes he did.
You fill out the rest
Their mess wasn’t as big as ours.
They didn’t make the 8 last year.
They’ve won 2 out of 3 - might be a bit premature to be laying on the praise.
If they make the 8 this year I’ll supply credit where it’s due...

Haha yeh , to early to jizz about tigers , didn’t they win first 4 or 5 under Cleary and still bomb out and not make the 8. They are specialist early roundS club

I agree. I'd like to see us try Hopoate at fullback with Harper and Averillo in the centres. Toomaga and RFM starting. Toomaga lost some weight during the break in an attempt to nail CHN's spot.

Hopoate
DWZ
Harper
Averillo
Smith
Foran
Wakeham
Napa
JMK
Sue
RFM
Jackson
Toomaga

Reserves
Ogden
Britt
Tolman
Elliott
I would throw Katoa in there as starting Hooker or on the bench

It would be absurd to change the coach just for the sake of changing, then again he has been there for over two years, management must have an idea if he is cut for it or not by now, if hey can't tell then we have a much bigger problem.
To get someone like Bellamy we should be working on it now to make it happen !

Yes, of course some of the positional decisions are puzzling. It just can’t be however that everyone one else sees something that Pay doesn’t. There MUST be some reasoning. As for the kids, yes, they need minutes without too many expectations on their shoulders.
We will know soon enough whether heads have been in the sand or not...
