Not everyone has to adhere to "social distancing", there are plenty of exceptions, basically anyone providing an "essential service" which includes people like supermarket workers, plus the obvious, doctors nurses, firefighters, police officers, etc etc. Plus a lot of not so obvious such as workers on building sites, NBN service techs etc etc. The NSW Government has received advice from the psychology experts in the Health Department that live sport is very important relieve the genpop stresses associated with the "stay at home policy". Hence why League (and other sports) have been exempted, there will be more announcements as the new C-19 cases continue to reduce.

There are a lot of detailed conditions associated with the season restart, that's what they have to work through in the next 6 weeks. It's far from a back to normal NRL training, games, socialising, family parties, nights out with the boys scenario. There are strict conditions and health checks to be put in place. For example if players are allowed to return after games to their families then the family unit has to self isolate, as it does now. Players themselves are to be very closely monitored, with regular checks.

As usual the problem is we don't know what we don't know, but there will be a lot more information released over the coming weeks.

Go Dogs
Hubby is a builder and he most certainly has to adhere to social distancing on the site. I have a whole ream of documents sent to him by his site manager and coming from HIA and NSW health. One case on a job is the trigger to shutting that job down, no matter how big or small it may be.

According to a report on a Current Affair, a show aired on the broadcast partner CH9, there has been NO dialogue between the NRL and Nine as to just exactly what is going to happen. It is on Nine's facebook page.

Health minister Brad Hazzard has revealed the NSW Government has not given the NRL clearance to restart its 2020 season — and hasn’t had any official communication with the code for four weeks.
Lol this game is more delusional than I thought

NSW Health Minister said he did not give NRL the go-ahead
By Freya Noble12:28
NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard has said the NRL approached him three weeks ago about continuing the season, but he's had no further conversations with them.

Yesterday Australian Rugby League Commissioner Wayne Pearce announced the 2020 season would recommence on May 28. Today Mr Hazzard was asked if the NRL had permission to train and play.

"The NRL came to see me five weeks ago and there have been no further discussions. I can't comment," he said.

"If the NRL want to go ahead, happy to have the chat and make sure with that medical advice if it is appropriate.

"The only meeting that I have had with about a month ago with Todd Greenberg and Peter V'landys .

"This was before they made a decision to shut the game down so I have not had any discussions at this stage," Mr Hazzard said.

V'Landys is relying on his buddy Barilaro to push the barrow at Macquarie Street. Fair to say, the Nationals leader owes V'landys for the free tickets/spread at The Everest horse race at Randwick!

if the horse racing is still going / apparently never stopped, then why should the boys not play? (having been quarantined of course)

Imagine the backlash if the virus did go viral amongst the players and their families.

The Ruby Princess fiasco would pale in comparison and set back the NRLol even more than Toddy's admin.

The Qld Premier has said the current crisis is too precarious to even be thinking of re-starting the game. Therefore you would think that Qld won't be giving them the go ahead to use any Qld assets for a start.

If that's the case, Gladys won't risk her neck for the NRLol...but Ch9 do have a lot of sway and influence...that would be Vlad and TG's only hope.
At this point, Toddberg probably is thinking why not?
He is likely to get the boot, but if he starts it up and it succeeds he's the king again, if it fails, he gets the same boot. If anything it extends his job a few more months

I think if it starts again and goes well V’Landys will be seen as the king, from all reports he’s taken control at NRL H/O, Greenburg is his puppet. If it goes pear shaped, I reckon they could throw Greenburg under the bus...I actually think he’s gone either way with his contract up at the end of this year...

I’ve never seen Pearce’s head so often post-career as the last few weeks.

I’m not sure of his credentials, does he have any?
Good guy, health nut (or was during his footy career) clean skin.

So totally unsuitable. NRLol's next appointment no doubt ;)

starting to sound like V'Landys isn't much less of a dope than Gronkberg

Now let's see ..the story so far...

1. Neither Vlad nor Toddy have spoken to the NSW Govt.

2. Neither Vlad nor Toddy have spoken to one of their two broadcast partners.

3. Qld Premier has said it is far too soon and precarious to be talking of Qld support for re-starting the rubga league.

4. Vlad and Toddy? Who has confidence in them pulling this off?

Really glad you found the post informative MaxAbuBob.

Shame you didn't answer my questions, but that's OK, 4 is probably a little too many for you to process, so let's just stick with the first question and talk footy.

The Tallinn Trolls - Nasheed can coach because he already lives there, so that's helpful. Also he's proven his coaching nous by playing the club's best 6 at 9 - or maybe he's just channeling Jimi Hendrix - I mean who knows what goes on with his multiple accounts (oops I mean personalities!).
Who else do you think the Trolls could recruit? Would a SBW style investment be worth it like the Wolfpack have reaped massive dividends from?

Perhaps Vlad is secretly trying to expose how truly incompetent Todd is

..one can hope

I still can't understand how the horses were allowed to continue... but if anything it can be something the NRL could use in their case to get the show back on the road.

it's the biggest copout given all of those who have been put out of work. Nothing essential about horse racing

Booze sales and punting I read has spiked in sales/wagers. Good to see people are saving their money for a rainy day...
