Andrew Johns is the GOAT.

How the fuck is Inglis ahead of Slater, Thurston and Cronk?

Lockyer is overrated.
if Johns' career went longer maybe, but Cam400 has been just about top 3 every season for a very long time and always had Storm at the top of the ladder, as well as the Maroons over NSW

Even Souths fans will say that GI is a lazy ****, hard to put him above guys who were at the top of their game year after year

These lists are a joke. All time greatest of BS by fox news. No footy on and they are resorting to name all time greats. Spare us please. We already know who the best players in the game are. SBW certainly is not a candidate for the greatest ever, guy is a mercenary who left league twice. Even Hayne would be above SBW in terms of his performance levels in RL.

I don't care if Cam Smith had played 1000 games. If you made a top 10 list of Joey and Cam's best 5 seasons Joey would be 1-5 and Cam 6-10. Joey never had player's the calibre of Slater and Cronk around him.

He absolutely would stand out.
There is no room for discussion here, anyone who thinks otherwise is kidding themselves. Taumalolo is a generational talent. At 26 he is already one of the most dominant players we've ever seen and he could play for another decade. He is a freak athlete, people with his size and power shouldn't be able to move that quick. He is so quick off the mark that it wouldn't matter if he played with the 5m rule, he would still be head and shoulders above any forward on the field. Sure there was some pretty tough blokes around back in the day but almost none of them had the technique or the physical attributes that Taumalolo has. Taumalolo would have even better numbers back in the day before all these wrestling tactics were a thing.

he has not had to endure what some of the forwards of the past have, so you can't say that guys from that era would not be dominating in today's game like he is, or that he would be better than those guys if he had played in their era

Bradley Clyde is the only comparable player from a previous era and IMO taumololo is head and shoulders above him. Most locks were about 80kgs back in the day, even with a five metre rule they would not be able to contain him. Who is a better lock then Taumololo?

How the hell do you have Ben Kennedy anywhere near that list? Theres about 10 2nd rowers I'd choose before him. I mean the obvious one is Steve Menzies.

And Brett Stewart should be nowhere near that list either.

Heres my list (not necessarily in order)
Smith
Johns
Cronk
Thurston
Lockyer
Fittler
Slater
Inglis
Civonoceva
Buderus
MENZIES
Webcke
Tallis
GALLEN
Maloney
Minichello
Marshall
SBW
Taumalolo
HAYNE

That list was absolutely terrible until you mentioned Elliott. Put Elliott on the field with those 4 guys right now and he would absolutely tear them apart.

he posted this the other day of best players in the NRL era
Simply isn’t experienced enough to pick a best of ALL TIME, he plainly is a prime example of he does not know what he does not know.

Let’s try this, how would his choices go in the 5 yards, unlimited tackles and only 2 interchanges only due to injury go? They be farked, that’s how they’d go.

Would be nice to see Benji Marshall get selected as an immortal. From a kiwis point of view anyway..!!

Don’t care who disagree, it’s my opinion not yours.!!
That's your black and white glasses seeing it.

The honest answer is he could have been but his glory was too short lived. He lost his speed and footwork well before the age of 30 and now he's barely first grade standard. He's not quick anymore.

I think an immortal needs a glory run longer than 2005-2010

Cam Smith is not the GOAT.

There is two key differences.

Both players have major impacts on their team.

however Cameron still has a lot of quality around him to ease the burden. He still has Munster, JAC, some forwards who are stars. Before he has slater and Inglis etc

Joey has no one bar maybe Steve Simpson and Gidley. When Joey was present they would win most games and when he was absent they would be spanked 30+.

What's more,
Joey had a bigger bag of tricks.

their organisational skills are par, but Joey hit harder in defence, had a better kicking game and running skills.
How often do we see cam smith making line breaks?

Smith is the best hooker for sure, but when talking about GOAT lists how can you put him above Johns and even Thurston ?

Inglis should be nowhere top 5.
