A few days ago there was a thread where Phil Gould went on a rant about how good a club we are.
And our lack of success hasn't been death rided in the media.

You have to also face some hard truths,
Bankstown is a poor area. By today's and yesterday's standards.
60-70 percent of our supporters are Arabian wartime refugees (or their kids) from the roughest part of North Lebanon. When they came on the boat, rattled with PTSD, they were joined by members who are essentially ISIS today!
For every 3 good people on the boat fleeing the villages, there was also ISIS doing the same. They all fled together. They now live together in our territory.
Have you ever heard our guys speak Arabic? Does it sound like upper class Arabic to you?
My point is, after Coffs Harbour and the eyes were on us, our supporters did not help. It was very easy to give the media negative stories of violence and aggression, but we fixed it eventually, and they backed off.
It's been smooth sailing the last few years. For the most part.
The real question is why do our media reporters constantly death ride the sport? Not our club specifically, but our sport. They have rationalised it by saying 'Rugby League thrives on controversy' but this is a cop out so they can keep bashing the sport. Nasheed.

It's leave without pay and as soon as they get a start date its back to normal. I'm not sure what happens if the season doesn't restart seeing as he is off contract in November.

There might be some long serving staff within the organisation that have banked some leave or perhaps ask for pro rata

The club is also doing great work trying to help out some people including players with an assist program
Supporting each other in these times is paramount especially mental health
Money is not everything

Me too - and then his hit on Lazarus the next week. The team became superhuman after that hit and never looked like losing the comp.

Yeah I just posted on the other thread. I’m not sure if he’s gone “gone” so to speak. I think it’s more due to the club handling finances

I am not ASIO, I do not know how many terrorists we have in Australia, but can you imagine what sort of trouble we would be in if 1 out of 4 Arabs in Australia are terrorist ?

Yes. Apart from Pay - Green, O’Brien, Cleary, Arthur and Morris are all on leave, firstly using annual leave entitlements then leave without pay (no pun intended) until further notice. Other clubs are expected to follow suit.

Yes, as far as I’m aware all support staff have been stood down too.

Beyond the standard 4 weeks annual leave in Australian employment contracts, any other entitlements are between the parties and are unknown.

Anything else in terms of what sort of competition might be possible and when are also still unknown and too early to speculate on.

I'm not saying 1 in 4 Arabians here are terrorists. Not in the sense of running into sports stadiums with guns screaming like the extreme. Just re-twig your definition of what it means to be Isis. There are a lot of Isis sympathisers.
For example, when Isis were throwing gays of a building, there were a lot of people watching In fascination.
These are the people we have. People who wouldn't dare kill another human being, whether it's because they don't want the negative attention or jail time or from morals, but we have plenty that don't give a shit they exist, or silently support them in their mind.
How many times do you see Facebook comments from someone calling a terrorist action revolting, and instead of getting agreeable, People reply more with 'whaddabout America blah blah'. That's because whilst they may not approve of terror activity, a bit of them support the team.

but all that aside, when the boats arrived, they were fleeing a war where a bunch of people were fighting another bunch of people. How on earth can you think we could be so lucky that only good people entered the boat? Most were no doubt, but a big percentage were sympathisers at the very least.
They are all Bulldogs fans now as it was Bankstown where they settled and we have seen the result pop up a few times.

As for Coffs Harbour,
This was juvenile trial by media. Brett Stewart got it way worse, and he's Manly. The media don't discriminate with their sensationalism.
Remember that gang rape was a very touchy subject back then, from people from our area, and we were the most successful club.

They jumped on it massively. We were little bitches and didn't support our players publically. And they ran with it for years.
Now we are starting to be desensitised to it because it keeps happening. We were the first and it was magnified then.
The best team, has the first rape scandal, a team from an area infamous for raping.
