Will probably also be broadcast elsewhere but for those with Kayo there will be an update on the NRL competition status re: COVID-19 at 10am Sunday with Todd Greenberg and Peter V’Landys.

They need to suspend this year's competition.

Key Points:

- Fluid situation: changing by the hour.

- The game has never faced a challenge of this magnitude.

- NRL have commissioned a bio-security and Pandemic expert for advice.

- For now Round 2 goes ahead (no crowds). That could change if anyone (player, official, ballboy) contracts COVID-19.

- Warriors will be based out of Kingscliff for the coming week.

- Government must assist. If the money dries up that’s it. ‘Australia without rugby league is not Australia’.

Its more than likely the season will be paused if not abondoned at some point, all it will take is one person involved in the game to contract the virus and thats stumps

The legs on the reporter in the green dress, best part of the broadcast

The NRL blowing that billion dollar broadcasting rights money is biting them in the ass big time. It sounds like they can’t afford to shutdown.

All I can say is thank goodness Bullfrog set everything in place with the Leagues Club.

So in summary:

- game will go on as per normal. Still no crowds allowed at games

- Warriors will play all their games in Australia at this time

- will reassess after round 2

- could change in a moment if advice changes

- If the NRL is suspended then they'll need the Australian government to float them or the NRL may collapse

You'd expect the government to tell the NRL that they're not priority, but Scotty from Marketing loves his footy.

How can’t the NRL have insurance for a shutdown? The mismanagement that has gone on for years could kill the game.
