Not saying the boys did nothing wrong, but it was more stupid than criminal. And with the sponsor, it wouldnt shock me to death that the restaurant chain has been feeling the pinch a bit recently with corona virus reducing customers, and jumped at a chance to back out.

Hard to explain why Souths for example, who had a player send penis pics to random females (when married) didnt lose any sponsorship, and they didnt get a big fine from the NRL. We get massive fines for a bare ass at a private function in a back street, and lose a sponsor over legal consensual sex. Not saying either thing was a good look, but when it involves the bulldogs, it usually gets blown right up, and when its another club, under the rug it goes.
Because other clubs have built up their relationships with sponsors and we have not had a tonne of good exposure in the last few years.

Actually if they picked them up when visiting the school and the girls are under 18 then it is criminal.
Doesn't that Instagram leak bullshit kinda work in the dumb ***** favour?

Our Club should only be fined if we broke from rules and terms that were contracted to us with the NRL around player protocols and safety. If the fine is simply for 2 players doing the wrong thing and by association to our Club we get hit with a fine after we acted swiftly within the code of conduct, then the NRL need to be taken to court and they will lose for acting in the tosser zone. If it isn't bad enough for a Club to lost a 2 million dollar sponsor and 2 players and all the bad press, the NRL want to put the boot in further - fuck them up in court I say. And for the record, Okunbor and CHN have ruined their careers for the foreseeable future if allegations are backed by facts - that is a very sad outcome for their families.
Exactly right. It’s a bit hypocritical repeatedly getting hit with fines for players behaviours while tigers, Souths, roosters, raiders, broncos have nothing to answer for.

If a club is responsible for players acting up then make it an across the board thing. Not pick and choose where to apply it.

by all reports we followed the guidelines. We contacted the nrl. We stepped the players down. Yet there will be 5-6 players playing this week who had violent “crimes” who will line up without any fines or suspension.

Double standard much?

Didn't happen under Des. He had their respect. B grade players with B grade ideas.
We couldn't keep Kia under the Anderson reign of terror. Or Jaycar. Not even a small restaurant chain.
Great voting members. We are the new Tiger and Parra. For Fuck Sake.
Wonder if we will sign anyone.

Because of our track record.
Bulldogs again in the spotlight for sex scandal.
I cant keep defending the club.
We do have to monitor these idiots 24/7 it appears
They had consensual sex with women of legal age. It's not criminal activity and it's not a scandal. It's the media that are deliberately spiralling this out of control and labelling it as such.

The club needs to start showing some back bone and standing up to these fuckwits in the media and at Nrl headquarters.

This and the mad Monday incidents are perfect examples of the media and nrl trying to screw the club over.

Stand by the club and players and stand against Newscorp and Nrl. These bastards are the real criminals... As I'll point

News of the world - part owned by Murdoch shut down for criminal activity in 2011. Tapping phones of celebrities and deceased service mens family in order to get stories of private nature. Guess who owns the daily terrorgragh... Newscorp aka Murdoch

Todd Greenberg covered up dv incidents (aka criminal offenses) for both Barba and inglis.

Its not the end of the world and the blokes haven't broken the law

Somehow or another all these other NRL club issues are not related to official club events or functions? ... ours do seem to unfortunately directly involve club events so therefore it is guilt by association and easy for the media to rope us in...

If that's how they met then yeah it helps him big time as no crime was committed. Legal age in NSW is 16 unless they were under your care which it then becomes 18.

If they both just rooted chicks off Tinder it wouldn't have blown up like this. Rooting a student at the school you just did a team event at, is entirely different and of course going to blow up.

Don't forget the no girls at the team hotel rule as well.

How do you know both players knew they were students at the school?

he is 22 and she is what 18 and why would you recommend Tinder, is that a safer option for anyone. Brought shame on the club because everyone is saying so, since when have we been ruled by the Taliban
I don't recommend Tinder. I also don't recommend hooking up with high school girls on school visits and taking them back to the team hotel. With the way the world is now, all of this was bound to come out and the outcry would always be massive. Whether you agree or not, that's the way things are these days and the players are all aware of that.

Yup, this is what Phil Gould said:

"The clubs are relentless on them. The clubs can't do any more to educate, and virtually plead with the players. We try as hard as we can to put as much security and education and knowledge in their heads, and not put them in situations where their interactions with public can turn to anything that could be criticised."

The players know better. They have themselves to blame.
