I thought he looks like a real hooker. Thought he went well. Maybe him and JMK rotate this year?
Yeah I guess that's what will happen. Probably a good thing in Katoa locks the starting role down for now as JMK offers better utility value.

Wakeham is the best half at the club. Looks confident and wants to lead the team around - like someone who's played well at international level. Does things at pace and has options. Add's the spark that we otherwise lack etc etc

The difference between lewis and Wakeham is like chalk and cheese!
that's it.. Lewis just kicks and hopes.. kicked dead at least twice and his bombs sometimes produce results but Wakeham is much more calculated and knows when to put it out, or go for a repeat.. and obviously much better in attack

There were some great signs and also some terrible ones... It's all in the coaches hands now.. there is more than enough to make a decent side..

* it was a trial
* we have ALOT of talent in our team
* we won
* Harper
*wakeham
* more positives than negatives

at the end we really started to get out shit together and put some nice footy together. The inclusion of wakeham changed the dynamic and structure, put dwz into the mix, let them all gel an we will be a force.

*wakeham must start
* the correct team needs to be Selected
*pay needs to get it right
*more positivity needed

WE WILL BE OK PEOPLE....!!!!!

Wakeham Toomaga Harper were good - cant see how they can be left out of the round one team. Smith back to wing.
Yh Harper looked miles better at centre than Smith, but that's really no suprise as Smith at centre was just never going to work. Smith just isn't elusive enough, much better at just attacking the space Infront of him and finishing off backline plays.

Wakeham and To'omaga are absolute no brainers, they can do what really no one else in the side can do...must picks.

What did you think of Averillo at fullback? Might be worth giving him the season there in ISP?

The most concerning sign is that Pay is still going to start the season with Lewis at halfback lol.

Katoa can be a weapon, To’omaga looks the goods, Harper and wakemham are awesome, Tass and averillo also good, and big Papi coming along and finding some old form. Plenty of positives to take from this at least.
Katoa showed more than enough to give encouragement, he is a different style of dummy half compared with JMK, which is a bonus.

Difficult thing about this trial is most of the blokes who stood up and got noticed are genuinely fighting for a spot. With DWZ and Meaney back, who do you leave out of the backs in Round 1, where does Harper get a go? Britt was excellent, but CHN and Jackson weren't there...

30-18 win

- not sure if it was our fitness or sharks lack of 1st grade mental toughness but we finished all over them
- best halfback imo was Sharks Trindal, worried our guys all night. Wakeham was good when finally brought on and Lewis dragged
- RT, Ogden and Pappi were all good.
- Katoa had an ok game, much better than Lichaa. Holland filled a spot, left his kicking boots at home
- the other Katoa scores a try after almost spilling it, but his defensive positioning is awful.
- Reimis defensive position at centre not great, Harper not much better.
- Okb didn’t do much 2nd half
- pretty obvious Lewis is solely an instinct player with little vision. Wakeham needs to be the future. BBO not ready for 1sts, but will be good.
- we need Meaney, Hoppa, DWZ, Harper, Reimis at the back, L to R

If wakeham outplays Lewis next week as well he may be hard to leave out. Dont agree with your earlier comment that Pay would not play wakeham coz it might show him up, i doubt Pay makes decisions on players to protect his ego. Thats ridiculous. But agree today Wakeham was better.
