I watch both, take what I can from it and form my own opinion. It can also be very entertaining in a comedic way, for example take the Trump Impeachment, watch CNN and Fox News report exactly the same facts and see them spin it to suite their pre conceived biases, had me in stitches several times.:tearsofjoy:

Go Dogs
Very true. Wish I had the time!
But TK takes most of my spare time :-)

Well he has a chance to impress us all with the World Club Challenge game coming up against the Rorters on the 22nd of Feb.

If he can monster these Rooster forwards than we will all be licking our lips!

Well I don't know about Thomo monstering the Roosters forwards maybe in defense but if he can hit a few holes and have them grasping at air I certainly will be excited.

This was obviously recorded pre signing, but still interesting to hear what the talking heads over there have to say about it all.. it's nice that they we are still known for our bite over there after some average seasons

TBH i think its good that the current squad will have another full season together prior to his arrival, as it could be a wasted year with all the bedding down and new halves combo etc
i want him here we we have ironed out some more shit and be a bit more competitive by seasons end

St Helens got belted 19-0 this morning I can’t find any live stats on the game but I’m guessing Thompson didn’t star.

Watched the second half. His big mate Walmsley was ruled out just before the start.

Tiny fella with leg speed but got buckled a few times and didn't really have too much of an impact.

Commentators talked him up like some kind of colossus whenever he had the ball.

They are of the opinion he will be fantastic.

I'm hopeful, tiny bit sceptical.

To be fair he had a big work rate in defence and because Walmsley was out had to play longer minutes than usual. St.Helens were way below their best all over the park particularly with their ball control.

I watched the game this morning,
The commentary mentioned him several times about coming to our club and were very confident that luke will be up to the task in the NRL.
They defended for long periods of the game
He is a bit lean but is fast and was always prepared to take a hit up.
His leg drive was very good & didn’t look lazy at all.
More than happy with this acquisition.
Can’t wait to see him run out in our colours

It will take some adjustment for him. It's a step up week in week out.

Pretty obvious he is class and competitive so will get it together sooner rather than later.

His "progress" report will have a minus sign on it next Saturday. 8-)

I’m looking forward to watching him next weekend,
Hope they win and he has a cracker game, man of the match is good enough I suppose lol
Luke will not go missing in action from what I saw today.
He is young & ambitious with a point to prove.

Anyone intending to watch the StHelens games to see Thompson in action should also look out for Morgan Knowles. Only 23, can find the try line and plays back row and hooker.

Next StHelens match against Warrington on Foxsports 502 at 11.30 am tomorrow, replay 4.30 pm and 11 pm.

Go Dogs
I think he was rested today, but yeah a great player for sure

For those of us who hate Murdick, DT and won't get Fox, out of principle, but still want to follow up on Thommo, would you be so kind as to give summations of his game in this thread ;)

Be interesting to follow his progress while we wait. No braindead critiscism please as we don't want to frighten him off lol.

Btw I saw on a St Helens forum they are reading Dogs fans reactions on our sites re his signing and commenting on them :grinning: Been with them since he was 11, so this is a huge blow to them. Most wish him well tho.
Go to YouTube and search "Luke Thompson St. Helens", and you should see a clip labelled "welcome Luke Thompson" It should also be on the Dogs website.

For fun only, I'll have to disagree with on 2 counts, firstly Elliot is rarely the worst, there are others much worse than him in almost every game. Secondly media wise, ABC is by far the worst, their socialist/communist agenda appears in everything they broadcast, followed very closely by SBS.

Go Dogs
The Dogs had their origins with people you would label as socialists. They were salt of the earth types who put community ahead of the individual, because that's how teams work best.
