Wests Tigers have secured one of the club’s most important signatures in years with local junior Adam Doueihi returning to Concord.
Fox Sports learned on Thursday that Tigers powerbrokers and Doueihi’s agent Sam Ayoub were attempting to fine tune the terms on a four-year contract for the last 24 hours.

The deal was rubber-stamped and confirmed by the club on Thursday afternoon, with the contract worth around $2.5 milllion.

The Rabbitohs officially announced Doueihi’s immediate release an hour before the Tigers’ unveiled him in his new colours.

The Roosters had also been at the negotiating table, but the Tigers had the benefit of being able to offer Doueihi the football pathway of playing fullback this year and potentially moving into the halves when Benji Marshall retires.

The stability of a four-year contract was also a strong trump card for Wests Tigers.

Wests Tigers new chairman Lee Hagipantelis personally met Doueihi and presented the Tigers vision for the club.

Hagipantelis is believed to have played a crucial role in convincing the young gun to return to the club where Doueihi played junior football.

Doueihi played Australian Schoolboys rugby union and S.G Ball for Balmain Tigers before South Sydney signed him at the end of 2016.

“I’m very pleased we’ve been able to secure Adam on a long-term deal at Wests Tigers,” Tigers coach Michael Maguire said.

“He is a fine young man off the field and is an excellent addition to our squad with his talent and versatility across a number of positions.

“Adam is a tremendously hard worker who carries himself very well, and we’re all excited to see him take the next steps forward in his career at this club.”

He's a much better option at fullback than Corey Thompson for the tigers.

Souths would have found a way to keep him if he was as good as his price tag.

Can always rely on the Tigers to pay overs for backup players

Still gotta love Corey though, he’s a very reliable solid player.
20 years ago he'd probably be considered a very good fullback, agree he still does a good job when called upon.

Not surprised the tigers signed him. Desperate purchasing as usual.
Grab who is available. Not worth 600k+ But good luck to him

I know everyone wants a big signing, but I'm glad we didn't fork out 600k for this guy tbh.

I was keen on this kid, but 625k is a bit over the top.
Could turn out to be a very good signing for the Tigers, but at that price and for 4 years it's a massive risk.
Wouldn't surprise if it turns out to be a good value contract though.

So do you think this opens the door for Addo-Carr to make the move to South's now. I reckon that's where he will end up.

Yes. Souths are having a laugh, NRL very lenient with them with the retirement calls and then you have clubs taking their scraps so they can go and replace them with established stars. Guess that's what good, aggressive management can do for you.

Where does that leave Mbye? Harry Grant, Liddle and Reynolds are in front of him at hooker. There's Marshall and Brooks in the halves... Plus Leilua, Jennings, Nofaluma and Thompson in the backs...

Madge will throw Mbye in at hooker.

Reynolds will be left right out. Maguire does not rate him at all.

The tigers actually played well when Reynolds came on at hooker late in the season.

Yh because the dinosaurs are doing such a good job, pfft. Like I said before, who says the other lot couldn't have got us out of the mess far quicker with their aggressive style of roster management? Entirely possible.

They were falling further and further into a hole, we were paying people out left right and centre, they were too reckless to sort it out
