The conspiracy theories on this story are ridiculous IMO.

It's entirely reasonable to take the mainstream view on this story given that:

- Coronavirus exists in exotic animals like bats and snakes and others.
- It's well documented that chinese eat all sorts of exotic animals. It's also well known that the chinese are not particularly concerned with hygiene standards, particularly at outdoor eateries where live, partially alive and dead animals are thrown together in close proximity.
- Coronavirus can transfer from animals to humans

Do the math. Some absolutely filthy humans ate some weird shit in an eatery in Wuhan and the virus jumped from the animal to a human.

That person probably went home and kissed their wife/husband and kids that night. Then it goes from there.

You must of been the exception lol
Asians are some of the most racist peoples around. Not sure why white people get the bad rap.

Go and meet an asian girls parents and ask them whether she would be allowed to date a black/indian/muslim/middle eastern guy.

Meh, debatable.

Every race has their racist few.

Asian people especially the older generation are very cultured, family, food, religion, ceremonies etc. I wouldn't paint asian's the most racist nor any other race. I could say the same for Aussies, my sister is in Bathurst studying to be a paramedic, helping people as first responders. And the stories she tells me, you would want to go up there and punch people. But that's just not in her nature, the people that bully her is despicable, and yet she's the one that wants to help everybody regardless of race.

Maybe you're right. I don't have any issue with asian parents having their preferences for their kids relationships.

My wife is asian.

I just find it unbalanced when people say white people are the most racist.

I also didn't say asians are the most racist, just some of the 'most racist around'.

Agree I live in an area where whites are a minority.
You should see the dirty looks I get from Asians and Indians in Auburn.
They look at me like I don’t belong there!

like it or not racists.
But after white people colonised Sydney and brought the modern world with them, Auburn was settled predominantly as an Irish Catholic neighbourhood!

I even had a few Arab kids who approached me (Aussie born like the rest of us) say to me and my brother wow we not used to seeing Aussies around here.
I was speechless but wanted to say fuck you, this is Australia, what’s your problem with white people you little racists?

everytime someone of a particular race shows me disdain it makes me want to hook up with one of their sisters to further piss them off!

I even seen a white guy hitting on an Asian girl at the casino.
She approached me and says can you get this guy to leave me alone because I don’t like white people!

Imagine the uproar if a white girl went upto an Asian guy and said stop this Asian guy from hitting on me because I don’t like yellow people?

lol

Just to be clear, my point is that racism (all things considered) is not an issue in this country. People talk about it way too often and it gets way too much air play.

I have no issue with my mother in law and her social circles telling their daughters who they can and can't marry lol.

racism I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again.
It’s only racist if a white person says it!

I wish Netflix would create a series called rich, successful white people.
I’d love to see all other ethnic groups call it racist after that rich Asians rubbish they showcased!

Agreed. In the main cities in Japan for example, you often find some really racist people in certain areas of Tokyo but outside the main cities you find some very culturally friendly people.

That said, Japan does have some policies that could be considered racist but they're based on a history of problems the country has had.

There's about 10 reality TV shows that already fill that criteria.

I agree with that to the most part. There is still racism in Australia as there is everywhere, but it's not as prominent as many would have you believe.

An example was the Australian referendum to allow Aboriginals to vote in national matters which was started by Harold Holt. This is back in the 1960s when racism was more endemic than it is now. Over 90% of White Australians voted to allow Aboriginals to vote. Now days the same vote would probably return a result of at least 98%.

Yep. IMO 99.9% of Australians just want to get on with their lives. They want to try and improve their lives as time goes on as well as improving the future lives of their kids (if they have kids). They don't wake up in the morning trying to work out how to be racist or discriminate against others.

again to quote Chopper Read, sure he wasn’t the smartest guy but he was on point with this one
“It ain’t racist if you’re telling the truth”

if the media weren't constantly going on about racism and targeting certain groups, most people wouldn't think about it... the average person in a real world scenario accepts anybody so long as that person is not an asshole... I agree with Morgan Freeman, how do we end racism? "stop talking about it"

TBH I find it tiresome that whenever that is a big news story, there is always a conspiracy theory following not far behind.

So far I've heard:

China created the virus and were going to release it on the western world but it escaped
US created the virus and planted it in China
The bio lab in Wuhan is somehow involved in the creation of this virus and it escaped
There is a patent created by the CDC who created the virus so they could also provide the vaccine and make lots of money.

It's just tiresome and stupid.

There's nothing wrong with having an alternative opinion to the mainstream but you need to have something remotely solid to back it up with apart from just your own prejudice.
People love conspiracies and most of them are ridiculous. It's a bit easier to trust a conspiracy against the Chinese Communist Party due to their history of misinformation, but it's still most likely an exotic animal mutated disease.

What I'm not sure about is the amount dead.

100% agree with Morgan Freeman.
I’m with Martin Luther King junior.
I don’t judge by skin colour but more so by content of character!

I’m probably more critical towards white people than any other group.
I don’t know how many times I’ve facepalmed and shook my head in disgust murmuring to myself “stupid white people”.

there even used to be a group on Facebook called Asians can’t drive.
I joined it and the posts were mainly Asians laughing and tagging their friends and family!

I believe you’re not born racist you’re grown to believe what you’ve been taught.

At the end of the day if we peel back the skin we have the same organs and bleed the same colour blood, red.

I know a Lebo’s worst enemy is a Lebo for example. Lol
@Wahesh back me up with this one please.

I watched a programme once where a group of 5 year old were playing..they were half Israelis and half Palestinians.. The were all having a great time...all mixing in.. They filmed the kids 5 years later when they were 10.. This time the Israelis and Palestinian kids wouldn’t mix with each other.. Obviously indoctrinated with the hate from either parents, Teachers, relatives, or media .. Really sad..but illustrates your point exactly..
