Nothing will be done because he plays for Brisbane. Put a Bulldogs jersey on him and he'd be heavily fined and charged with "bringing the game into disrepute".

If it's his third offence drink driving, he should be getting towards a small amount of time in jail. But it's made a bit less likely by the fact that he'll have hardcore legal services helping him avoid any serious repercussions.

Up here you can be charged with drink driving if sleeping it off in the drivers seat. U have to bother to go in the back seat or something. If you are in the drivers seat you are considered in control of the vehicle up here, even if the engine is off. Tbh there was 1 occassion i could have been done for that. I got lucky. I was in a casino carpark after a staff party there. Was a long time ago.

Plus MMM this morning were reporting that the engine was running when he was found. Came from Dobbo but that's the first i'd heard of it...

(Drink driving is on of those areas where every bum has an an opinion on how they know the law, so its hard to know exactly what constitutes being in control of a vehicle or not, but I also heard things like needing to be not in the drivers seat, throw your keys outside the vehicle etc).

That is an insane law isn't it? Bloody crazy.

The Broncs will roll out that little Indo guy (Fifita's mate) as a character witness for Joe O. Stick with the tried and true.

Fair enough if the car was running I guess, but anything less than that and it's kind of ridiculous. Even then he might've just wanted the AC on lol.

I think the law might differ state to state too. I said "up here" because a Qld cop up here told me what i said, but i cant speak for other states. I suppose it avoids ppl pretending they were just sleeping in the car to avoid getting done for DUI. Ive been told also by a cop that technically you can be done for using your mobile, if you are in the drivers side parked, as you are in control of the vehicle. They expect you to get out of the car or not be in the drivers seat. Not that ive heard anyone being done for using a mobile on the side of the road.
