Please no-one mention Sauaso Sue except that he is leaving.
Lol.. he started to do a few good things prior to injury. He is not going to be able to get away with the same level of inconsistency that he did at the Tigers as Dean is not afraid to wield the axe

That exactly what I was saying des only had a plan A and that’s it .
His plan A was to screw as much money as he could from our club, by back ending contracts it would ensure short term success, which would guarantee his bonuses.
He was on a big money at our club, I believe twice what he had been paid at Manly, I'd bet that he is now coaching Manly for much less than he was paid by our club.
The way it all ended with him, I'd bet my house that at no stage he had his heart in our club, and very probably had a hate for it.

Under Des we made 2 Grandfinals, produced a dally m player of the year and had one of the most exciting seasons in years. People need to stop acting like the entire Des era was all bad.
Des inherited the successful side of 2012 which went downhill as he built his own team and we lost players like barba. If Pay can get us to a gf in the near future it would be a greater achievement because he inherited a poor side and no money to do anything about it straight away

I was so tempted to walk upto him and congratulate him and sneek in a "so U still at the dogs and when U going to start using U shoulders to tackle?" Decided it was not the time.. lol

Gf is easily 2 years away minimum... He would need a pretty decent 2020 to get a 2 or 3 year contract id say.

No he didn't, we finished 9th in 2011 so what successful side did he inherit? You lot need to stop being so salty.

The foundations were there. Not necessarily via coaching as K-Moore only had 2.5 seasons but Des didn’t bring in anyone in 2012 that I remember - did he?

Yes he didn't bring anyone in except maybe Williams??! But that's my point, the improvement l in that side was massive, average players performed well above what they were capable of and that's exactly what a good coach does. What happened after is a completely different matter.

He inherited the side that became successful in 2012.The side didnt improve the more Des had to do with team make up. It went the other way

Point was Des inherited a better side than Pay did by miles, so any success Pay has will carry more merit than anything Des did. Even at Manly in 2019, Des has inherited a good side. One of the best spines in the NRL (origin half, origin fb). Until proven otherwise, i will believe Des is over-rated and a 1 team specialist (Manly). The Manly side that he coached to GFs should have been up there, they were a great side. Not saying Des is a shithouse coach, but i think he is more average than some other ppl do though. And he should not be allowed as much say in the club as he had, he is a shit businessman and recruiter.

Who the fuck even cares about Pay, why are you even talking about him? This isn't Pay vs Des, it's not even a Des vs anyone. It's simply giving credit to Des for doing a good job but some fans seem to have a problem doing that because everything is either all good or all bad with them.
