My goodness they lacked creativity. I mean, I'm all for history, but looking back, it's as if every team just chose some colours or their chosen district and put it in a shield.

Annandale:

Balmain:

Canterbury-Bankstown (I'm ready to get flamed):

Cumberland:

Glebe:

Manly-Warringah:

Newcastle:

Newtown:

Sydney University (yes, they were a first-grade team):

Western Suburbs:

What do you really expect when some of those are over 100 years old?

It's not like they had photo shop and graphic designers back then.

I'd take the old CB badge over the rubbish logo we had from 98-09.
I'd take that old badge too... however illustrators have been around for centuries.

Ours is easily the best there, at least there is some uniqueness about it

The other issue is production and manufacturing at those times, fancy designs might have been around but the means to make them back then might have not been possible.

lol, Andy at it again

as the spoonman said some of these are 100 years old.

Yes Andy, they had illustrators back then, they also had to sew these things onto jerseys without any technology too, limiting their scope
