Lachlan Lewis linked to Melbourne Storm in Josh Addo-Carr trade
Lewis has been linked to the Storm as part of a player swap for the Bulldogs to pick up a homesick Addo-Carr.

Canterbury are interested in talking to the Melbourne flyer, however they aren’t willing to release their five-eighth to secure his signature.

The Storm are prepared to release Addo-Carr on compassionate grounds after the 2020 season to return to Sydney — as long as they receive compensation.

This will be in the form of a player swap or a transfer fee.

At this point, Addo-Carr will remain at Melbourne for this season unless a deal is done with a rival club.

Canterbury officials are monitoring the situation, as they would love to add more strike to their backline to become a genuine contender.

The Bulldogs would consider a player swap to secure Addo-Carr, but they are reluctant to release an influential spine player like Lewis.

The nephew of Queensland legend Wally Lewis is contracted at Belmore until the end of the 2021 season.

He will be crucial to Canterbury achieving success this season, especially with veteran playmaker Kieran Foran sidelined with a shoulder injury.

Foran’s sling has been removed and he is back completing light duties at training as part of his long rehabilitation.

The former New Zealand Test representative is off-contract and facing a battle to revive his career.

Canterbury will give Foran as long as he needs to recover in the hope that he can play again to try and pick up a new contract.

The Bulldogs aren’t the only Sydney club being linked to Addo-Carr.

The Wests Tigers have also been connected to the Blues and Storm winger.

Addo-Carr made his NRL debut with the Tigers in 2016, playing nine games before signing a three-year contact at Melbourne.

No quotes from club.

What did we get for release of our players? Oh that's right, nothing or the right to pay freight.

Imagine the only reason we don't sign JAC is because we don't want to release Lewis. Lol.
Haha I doubt it is the rumour didn’t make much sense to begin with. Why would the Storm want mediocre half when the are crying out for some outside backs.

Yh there's no way it's true, like you said why the hell would Bellamy want Lewis.

This rumour makes zero sense. Lewis recently signed a deal until end of 2021. Combined with Bellamy letting Addo Carr go early for a mediocre attacking half (currently, might change with the upcoming season).

Sounds like a “journo” thought of it and started a rumour out of thin air.

Don’t laugh Sancho that’s why Storm can see Lewis is very potential he is only young why they only choose him only not others (Bellamy can see what he is capable of doing)

Makes no sense and sounds too good to be true (as always) but you have to admit.. the FOX would look epic wearing blue an white and we would have a guy capable of carving up down the wing.. great entertainment factor .!! And I still have my fingers crossed that this comes to fruition.

pipe dream or not.. this one I want :tonguewink::tonguewink::tonguewink:

Bellamy just wants a 7 that will put up bombs when required and tackle. Croft didn't want to sit back as that's not his game. Lewis would be happy to though as his game is tackling

Give them a pick between Elliot, Tolman, Holland and Montoya.
Maybe two if they pay part of his salary for the rest of his contract with them.

I think Elliot is too much of a loose cannon for Bellamy's liking and don't think they need any forwards. Holland/Monty aren't Storm type players. If they wanted a swap at all would possibly be a young up and comer type player like Okonbur, Tass, Averillo and $$ compensation etc

Bellamy has a track record of turning loose cannons into genuine stars. Case in point - look at Finucane. For those who remember, he was a solid squad member of our team. However, was prone to drop balls, and a plethora of penalties. He has churned that out of this game, and has since played Origin.

Papenhuyzen - a player a few clubs turned away - was third in the pecking order to replace the irreplaceable Slater, and the jersey is now his.

Koribete - a Tigers player, who drifted in and out of FG. Went to Storm, killed it - and poached by the ARU.

Anthony Quinn - played 4 seasons at the Knights. After 1 season signing with the Storm, plays SOO.

Whilst I do not think Bellamy is in the market for a Elliot-type player, he has a knack of turning players around. Arguably though - for every winner, there are failures (Kasiano, Kata, Roberts etc).
