I wish I had your optimism but I can’t see it for either ,other people’s hype sometimes rubs off on players and they improve let’s hope so but for me they’re not up there,we haven’t really got much choice but I’ll leave you with this ,BIG CATS should be scary
Okunbourse season was massively interrupted by injury and he only played a handful of games, and Wakeham only played 3 from memory. So unless you have been out watching a lot of live CCup footy, I'm not really sure you can definitively say this.

I wouldn’t mind seeing Okunbor start the season fresh in the top grade injury free, his confidence will grow 10 fold
He has a lot going on in his favour like his height and speed, natural athlete
Just needs to show steady improvement every week
The glimpses of good footy tell me that anything is possible in the future for this young man

Okunbor and smith should be on the wing. Hoppa In the Centres. Need another centre maybe start with Holland and sign a specialist centre mid year signing or maybe a junior might surprise us.

I think Okunbor might surprise us another season under his belt with the off season. He's good size can be very dangerous at his best. With the right teaching he can become a star.

Yeah for sure. If he can get his handling in order he will be a massive boost to our squad. I look forward to seeing him running the ball back from our end!

Given all the somewhat negative talk on here atm, and the lack of any major signing news, let's all have a think about who we do have on the books for next year, and who we think will have a breakout season???.........
Will Meaney cement his position on the wing, or will Okunbour have a massive off season and have a breakout year?
Will Reimis solidify his claim of being our best winger and leading tryscorer again, or will he make the move to the centres and kill it?
Will JMK improve out of sight and cement himself as our first choice hooker after his decent 2019 form?
Can Wakeham have a sensational season while making a permanent halves position his own? Or will Lewis and Cogger step up?
Will DWZ improve his ball playing and become a world class fb??
Will CHN continue his fantastic 2019 form, or will Stimson prove that he deserves a starting spot?
Will To'omaga and RFM continue their steady improvement and lock down a bench spot, or even push for a starting birth?
Will Napa learn to dominate the middle with measured aggression and heavy hits?
Can Tolman learn to stay out of the way on the 4th, while continuing his herculean efforts in defense?
Can Hopoate's silky hands set up many more tries for us with our possibly improved attack?

Who do you think will rise to the top of our team sheet this year and provide the best value to our teams chances next season???

Personally, I think Okunbour will have a big year. I also think JMK and Wakeham will really step up this year. If these 3 players can shine then we are well on our way back to the top.
We have some quality forwards, some quality backs, and halves with potential. So if we can get a small amount of improvement from every position, which I think they all have have the potential to do, then we can make some real progress!!
Yes I am optimistic, but shouldn't we all be??
Agree with Okunbour and Wakeham but JMK surely you jest!

Mate george rose has a good highlights reel lol
You know someone is clutching at straws when they are using under 20 highlights of a player when they are 3 seasons into their NRL career.

The video was made in 2017 (Montoya's debut year). There wouldn't be much to add to it to be fair.

Montoya was the flavour of the month when he debuted. Had some ability under the high ball, a bit of size and people thought he was a breath of fresh air. I'm not his biggest cheerleader, but he's not the did that people make out he is.

Wouldn't it be better to let Averilo develop at half back like he should?
It's my guess that the idea being floated about Reimis to play centre has come about due to the lack of a strike centre at the club, and the desire to give the wing sots to Meaney and Okunbour. This is my hunch anyway.
Reimis said he's been asking for the chance to train in the centres, so part of it is from the horses mouth. It's not certain that he'll get time there, but he's putting himself in the mix.

How much of a fucking moron do you have to be to be talking Montoya up, an absolute nothing player.

Yes he had a strong debut year and looked promising, he was safe in the air, reliable finisher and a solid ball runner, but fuck me it's 3 years later and all he has done since then is regress. He's slow, been exposed defensively, has no real footwork and isn't anywhere close to the top finishers in the game.

He is a local junior so no doubt that's why a certain idiot talks him up despite smashing Hoppa (Hoppa is a manly name). Just laughable.

I thought we were struggling real bad for options when Pay tried Montoya in the centres...

Really? I thought JMK steadily improved all year. He is the only one in the team to kick a 40/20 this year, and his running game was pretty good towards the back end of the year.
But each to their own.

Yeah, I agree. Everyone loved him when he debuted. Last year he played some good foot before his injury finished his season.
read the article. But perhaps it could have all started with a chat with Dean and he was propositioned to see if there was interest. From this came the article. I guess we don't know. But with the way good wingers have become so sought after these days, they have almost overtaken the market value of a good centre. So asking to move to the centres is not necessarily going to offer a chance to earn more, so why would Reimis ask to be moved when he has primarily played wing?
This is just my hunch.

If he has that in his locker he should be doing it every time we're under the pump and their wingers (or even Fullback sometimes) aren't respecting our kicking game -spread the ball early in the set to get their Wingers interested (if they stay back then we have space). It's good he kicked one but it needs to happen more often and that's from all the Halves too. I think we're scared to kick it out on the full. JMK did improve throughout the year but us trying to recruit Koroisau and even Pay himself saying we're interested in a Hooker (I assume we wanted someone better than Katoa at the time) shows we're not content with him being our starting Hooker (unless someone on contract pops up now tho we're going to have to stick with him anyways). I hope he keeps developing and improving to change this tho. The less top/emerging players we need to buy/bring in the better.
