[Bulldog Ritchie Warning!!]

Just heard Bulldog Ritchie on Sky Sports Brekkie talking about JAC. Said he called Hill yesterday to ask if the Dogs were chasing JAC because he'd heard a rumour (well done Sherlock, you're only a month or so late). Apparently Hill told him we aren't chasing JAC because we don't need a winger, but we are looking for another forward.

Assuming Ritchie isn't bullshitting, which you'd hope so when he is publicly stating his source (i.e. the CEO):
a) who the fuck doesn't chase JAC if he's available, especially when we're need a centre, and Reimis has publicly stated he'd like to move to centre, and when he played there this season he wasn't too bad.
b) how many fucking forwards do we need?
c) Must be looking for a front rower since we have 2nd rower overflow. Since Big Papi is here for a couple of seasons still, is Tolman being moved on? Or, are we looking for another reserve grader?
Moved on? We will probably resign with upgraded contract as he and Jackson are the heart & soul of the team.

Hill has said multiple times we won’t discuss recruitment in the media.
The one time he has it was only to distance ourselves from the Latrell Mitchell circus.

People whinge our front rowers have no punch but then criticise the club looking for a front rower

Would not be surprised if they want another forward, because Tolman may be gone by the end of the season.

Bring another one in - let him learn from a stalwart, and he signs for maybe an ESL club or a retirement club... like the Warriors or Titans.

We certainly need a dynamic type of prop like a hass or takeako

Answer is simple. Us. It’s already hard to fit Holland and montoya in mate! How would he fit in!!?

Who in their right mind wants one of the most dangerous attacking players when you clearly struggle to score.

Probably Thompson to partner big papi in 2021 and transition Tolman to the bench or vice versa. I really like the idea of giving Reimis a crack at centre and giving JAC the wing spot if we could secure him.

I don’t believe anything the media says about the bulldogs despite who they “say” they are talking to. Although scoring tries hasn’t been a particular focus for us for a few years so wouldn’t surprise me

Yh surely Tolman is gone, surely we need to bring in a more athletic forward to replace him. Thompson was hyped but has looked average from the few games i've seen, then again how good was someone like Bateman before he made the move over? To'omaga and RFM need to have big seasons, would make things a lot easier for us if they can kick on.

We are so far off signing a player of his caliber it's almost comical.

Melbourne agree to compassionate release for star winger Josh Addo-Carr at the end of 2020 season

Melbourne Storm will help premiership winger Josh Addo-Carr return to Sydney under “compassionate grounds” at the end of the 2020 season.

But News Corp revealed the Storm goodwill gesture hinged on the NRL heavyweight being able to get a player of equal value in return for the NSW Origin and Kangaroos finisher.

A recent change in Addo-Carr’s family dynamic weighed heavily on the contracted and committed Storm winger’s decision to return to Sydney.

The Storm board was briefed on Addo-Carr’s situation this week and after much deliberation instructed the club’s management to explore options for the early release.

The club, however, would not be prepared to gift Addo-Carr to a rival club without just recompense, including but not limited to a transfer fee, like-for-like player swap and salary cap relief.

Addo-Carr is contracted to Storm until the end of 2021.

Storm chief executive Dave Donaghy confirmed the release to club members yesterday.

“The future of our flying winger, Josh Addo-Carr, has been the subject of much recent media speculation so I’ll address that here,” Donaghy said.

“Josh has made the Club aware of personal challenges that for the longer term will require him to relocate to be closer to his family in Sydney.

“To achieve this, Storm would be seeking fair value for Josh in return by way of a combination of the following… (Transfer fee, swap, cap relief) for doing the right thing by the player and providing some extra support for Josh, not dissimilar to the scenario in the AFL with Tim Kelly at the Cats.

“We believe this would be a fair outcome for all parties given the investment Storm has made in Josh and that we find ourselves on the cusp of the 2020 season.

“Most importantly, it would allow Josh’s request to be met and we, and the game, would be able to continue to support him and his family in the transition back to Sydney.”

Geelong got a haul of draft picks off West Coast in the trade for Kelly, which paved the way for the midfield jet to return to Perth with his young family.

Addo-Carr’s return to Sydney will leave Storm without both front-line wingers ahead of the 2021 season after Suliasi Vunivalu inked recently a multi-year deal to play Super Rugby.

A spate of departures, including Curtis Scott (Raiders), Brodie Croft (Broncos) and Joe Stimson (Bulldogs), coupled with the possibility of a Cameron Smith retirement would make Storm a major player in the 2021 free agency market.

The Storm released a statement with these conditions of his release! They are kidding themselves if they think they are getting any of that they have already told him he’s free to go and if he’s already wanting to go there’s no way he’s waiting another year. View attachment 12340

Good on the storm for throwing the request for something like that in return. Hopefully no club succumbs to their demands though.
Can we please have a serious David Holland style crack at the bloke though?!
