Random but you do you think Crichtons time at the Dogs is done ? I completely forgot about him lol was he that bad on the wing
Looked like he tried hard. But our defensive structure was all kinds of ordinary when he was promoted (not that it was necessarily his fault). It wouldn't surprise me if he gets another shot for us.

Crichton’s biggest problem is his body size if you’re going to be that short you need to have electric pace to make up for it. There’s no place for a slow and short winger in today’s game.

Ha. The issue is we originally signed him for 3 years, so 2 to go and he’s barely seen first grade (for good reason based on what we saw earlier this year).

surely he's not on much though?

Or like Utai. Fuck I loved that guy!!!
been watching some of the old footage that members have been posting lately... some of his efforts in the 2004 finals were absolute beast mode.. I think it was the grand final or one of the semis where he made that big play in getting out of the in goal to make a break down field

hard.. the amount of times he beat multiple defenders in the tightest of spaces.... may not have received the accolades like some of the other players from that team, but he was just as important.... there really were no weaknesses in that squad

Probably not - more an issue of a squad spot for 2 years that maybe could be better used. But that will always happen to some degree. Two words: John Olive.

or maybe he will start putting as much work on the field as he does in the gym... bulking up is one thing, but it needs to be utilised if you're a professional footballer....

John Olive lol is he still with us?! somebody better get on the blower to the Tigers and let them know that we've got another one for them

The post try commentary is brilliant... Fatty and Sterlo in their prime

"we talk about Minichiello leg drive, what about those little ones going"

"ohh, weren't they pumping"

watch it with the subtitles on... even funnier

A couple of points out of that video:

- One of the few things Katoa recalls Pay saying was "the boys are a tight knit bunch". We've heard in the media that our recruitment takes into account whether a player will fit with us, this is independent confirmation that we are absolutely taking into account if a player will fit in with the squad or not before trying to recruit them. There is clearly a priority being placed on having a "tight knit bunch".
- The footage of Katoa doing a kick had Brent Sherwin in the background, is Katoa part of the group getting tips from Shifty?
No ego. Thats the thing. Imagine mitchell or Ramien. Remember mason in his day, the effect he would have had on younger players with his ego.

Ha. No, Olive was released. No need to call Concord to ask for any help :-)

I notice the ball looks different to the older style - becoming more like an AFL ball. League balls were more pointed and rounder than the AFL ball, but the resemblance nowadays is much closer. That means a different kicking style to when Shifty was playing - particularly drop kicks.

The good ol days!
Sure bloody was. Great team.
Had everything for us supporters to enjoy and be proud of.

Sends chills. Amazing bunch of players but the crowd! Enthusiastic, proud and inspiring.

If we can get back to those days with our team and supporters...we will all be very very happy Bulldogs supporters.

We'll show 'em just what a great club and tribe we belong to.

I really want to believe that we are on the way to that place again. Comeradere and teamwork are the foundations of a good team. Too many egos and it wont work. So we build the platform and then build on that. This is what it appears we are doing to me.
